Ok well I was thinking more like 18" then flick the swith! The 3rd dimension says to grow and bound into a 30" bush?? and pandoras box says about the same thing. So if I have to bound 1 or the other into a bush that would mean 10 plants would be bound and bushed and then 20 just topped really early and let them go?? So the 1800w would be sufficient If I use this method??

i tried to be pretty specific, bro :D

but now i'm just 'bound' to be lost in the 3rd dimension.

anywho, dis here's growdrowwithme's journal... so hopefully before we open up pandora's box we can get back on topic. :eyesmoke: or at least hear growdrow's opinion on the subject...

i'm not sure man, but i can make some general suggestions...

make sure you completely change out ur rez/nute solution at the first sign of any problem. then bring it back up to the desired ppm with fresh nutes at the prescribed rates (but not necessarily at the proscribed quantities). plants can pull a particular micro or macro nute faster than the rest and then be deficient in that alone though the ppm's have hardly moved.

also, anytime leaves are healthy green enough (not pale) and they start to kink or curl or bend or twist then start looking at either over-fertilization or pH problems or nute lock out caused by poor water quality.

ya, that's reeaaaal helpful, right ?! :D

basically, make sure you are using RO water alone... then mix fresh as proscribed. make sure your pH is between 5.5 and 6.5 (might as well shoot for 6.0) ... and then make sure the ppm's aren't too high. personally i don't usually push them past 800 ppm, especially when having any signs of trouble.

i just changed everything out saturday and gave it all new nutes i even gave it lower doses there growing really fast i mean 2 to 4 inches a day roots and plant but all the leaves are curling up and i cant figure it out and it pissing me off

what's ur initial water quality (beginning pH and ppm)? what are your pH and ppm at after adding nutes?.

and i've smoked dope recently... so you'll have to remind me of the exact media and brandname of the ferts you are using .. bongsmilie

the answer is in there somwhere... sometimes a particular brand of nutes will be genarally known to be a bit defficient in some nute or another...

the start ppm and ph is 99ppm and 7.0ph

after adding nutes and ajusting ph its at 475 to 550ppm

an5.8 to 6.5ph and for some reason my ph always goes up after a few hours but the guy at my local hydro shop told me that was good for your ph to spike it meant that ur plants were feeding and taking in the good stuf:cuss:

it could also mean that you have 99 ppm of something like calcium carbonate in your water... this would cause the pH to rise (drift) even after you had it where you wanted it. if your pH stays in that range... 5.8-6.5 you wouldn't think it'd be much of a problem. and if it -were- calcium carbonate your pH would be higher than 7.0 to start with. is it well water? that is an unusual starting pH i beleive 'cuz cities jack the pH to inhibit growth of micro-nasties. 100 ppm isn't much, but that amount of a compound could, in itself, lock out a differnt nute that only occurs in small quantities in your fert mix.

many times you can get a free water quality report from the city that you live in if you are on a city water supply. this will tell you approx. what is making up that 100 ppm tap water. (if it is tap.)

if you are confident of your nutes being fully supplemental to your plants growth... then the only thing i can think of (aside from changing to a different brand of nutes) would be to get a Reverse Osmosis water filter to take out that starting 100ppm.

ok heres sorta an update the rain is kicking my ass outdoors thats running me crazy. indoors is a problem all in its own world. its fucking driving me nutts. my Ph keeps spiking im still having heat issues running both lights it stays 85.(that will be ok if i can get the danm Co2. both hoods need new bulbs bad there over 2 years old i no. my freaking leaves wont stop curling over the look fine and healthy and then they droop down like old titts! even the new growth is doing it i put in 6 new clones in a matter of 24 hours the first ones have already grown an inch and a half or more!!! im hoping they wont do the curling shit to? for some reasons the rubbermaid tubs dont do it the ph stays at what i put it at its also mixed the same as the buckets?? the stuff on the roots is the chelates in it and thats what its suppose to do the roots are a real bright white color and if you dip them a few times the stuff washes off. my roots are great imo and based on what i no and have seen. but my FUCKING LEAVES ARE RETARTED LITTLE FUCKS! :cuss: im sucking in really cool air from the a/c and i got my glass for my light and the fan sucks all the heat off of it.

since my last update ive done a few more things im gonna try an get all that ive done up in pics any questions or comments please i need help lol kiss-ass

theres also some bud shots got 3 new strains this weekend ill do a smoke report shiva skunk lowryderXafghan kush and white berry

PPM 450 to 550
PH 5.8 to 6.5
temp 80 (1 light)
water temp : feels bout right pretty cool

u r de-chlorinating your water somehow?

even if you were... the city you live in may be using chloramine instead of chlorine which would be more stable and persistent of a problem. Neither of these is safe for fish or amphibians, and while they don't necessarily -kill- the plants ... there is a reason why people try to remove the chlorine from their rez.

this is where the city water report would be handy. whoever you are paying for water should provide this upon request, especially if you show up in person and then they can give you a copy. RO water is priceless. (actually the price on RO water is about 180 dollars for a 100 gallon-per-day unit off of ebay.)

i was gonna buy a RO system but after i got my meters and checked everything everyone told me dont get one i didnt need it. im gonna get the water quality report for sure and see what it says the problem is still happening everyday new growth or old growth will be hooked over??????? should i get some fish tank de-chlorinator or something and try and get it all out? and i dont really live in a city the nearest city is 15 mins and the closest big city is 25 min away plus i live on the lake and the water company is a block from my house its pretty country were i live.

aside from bubbling your water in a container for 12-24 hours... that fish tank de-chlorinator sounds like a good idea, especially if it also removes chloramine. if you find that to be working, then you'd know if the RO unit is a good idea (necessary) or not. but, ya, that water report could be informative. my water report was down-right scary.

that wouldnt be a brob if i had another 14 site pump w/14 air stones and 14 more buckets would be the only way i could bubble the water first i dump the bucket fill it back up mix th nutes and put em back in

guess i should just invest in 2 50 gal trash cans 2 good pumps and air stones and a good RO system and say fuck it huh? might as well do i if your gonna do it

just depends on where you live man... but in most municipalities i think a RO system would be in my top 3 for "Must Have Equipment".

Right after a decent source of light and some meters.

Hey there, grodrowithme! How's it looking in there?? New pics?? You guys get any of your probs figured out??

Hopefully things have taken a turn for the better for you!!:hump: I know the problems you have been having are out of my league.....I've been very fortunate with my water here, though DaGambler has me about convinced to go with the RO water; it may make my sh*t more stable pH wise.......

Well, I 'll keep my eyes open for some new pics..............and have a great weekend!:-P
