About 4 weeks flowering but no clear bud growth

Hi guys,

My Durban Poison still has about 5 weeks to go before harvest but I was just curious as to how you think they're doing?
I've been using Fox Farms Big Bloom and Tiger bloom nutrients and have been pleased with it so far. I can tell how much happier they seem the next day.
This summer has been awful however, and I also planted a little too late, so I can understand the slow growth rate, but will the flowering go somewhat faster towards the end? Will I have at least some decent, small buds to smoke on? It seems at this rate I'll be smoking some white pistills, haha .
Either way this has been an incredible experience and for a newbie's first time I'm happy with whatever I get.
I've learned a lot about what to do differently next year :)

Thanks, and happy growing peeps!

They're still very early into flower. Two weeks at the most. at least 6 more weeks to go. Hope you have good weather.

Well no they're not only 2 weeks in, the white pistils appeared around 4 weeks ago now and they've just been going really slow since. If this were two weeks I definitely wouldn't be that concerned.
Thanks though, the weather this week is actually lovely :)

Are you sure they weren't pre flowers?

Not 100% sure what pre-flowers are. Google is telling me they usually come around the 4th week of the vegetative stage and in that case, then no.
I came back from holiday in Italy 3 weeks ago and they had started flowering. I then just added on about a week, assuming the week while I was away was when they began.
I suppose I'll have to wait and see :) Thanks!

2 weeks of pre flowers with stretch and then a slow 2 weeks getting into flower. Maybe a little underdeveloped but it is doing fine considering you said you got it out really late. Shit weather slows them down as well. weeks 5/6 you can almost see the difference overnight.

Ahhh okay, so they actually need to be harvested later then? That could become a problem as late October is already very cold. I may just need to bring them inside for the final couple weeks.
Thanks, that's a relief. And yeah I've definitely noticed how the growth rate has slowed down since the sun is not coming out anymore. Looking toward to week 5/6 :)

Yes, no worries. Just keep her happy and watch her grow. The most major swell in the bud development comes in the last week's. She is very good looking. Great job!

Took some cool macro photos with a phone lens and I noticed some purple. I read that Durban goes red when in colder climates but wanted to ask if this is a sign it's too cold early on? I know the cold can destroy the quality of flower which I'm not too worried about for my first attempt, but I know it's going to get much colder. Should I be protecting them more at night time? Some nights reach 5 degrees and since now the harvest will be extended to November I'm thinking they'll need some extra care. I've also read the only temperature they can't handle is the North Pole . Suppose I'll have to just keep an eye out.
