I'm not going to respond to the others advisors. I started growing before the internet, so my methods were mostly self taught. I wouldn't do anything to the plants until one of two things happen. 1)5%-25% of tricombs turn amber. 2)you begin to see bright green new leaves among the buds. When you see these, it is time to havest the bulk of the buds, but don't get carried away. Too much weakens the plant. Better to leave a bit too much.

FYI, I don't bullshit. If I recommend something, I believe it is the best way to approach things.
I recently gave away my seed collection to a grower . He suffered severe head injuries due to a war in the sand. My collection included land races, from all the continents except Antarctica. About 50 pure strains and hundreds of crosses. Maybe 300, 000 seeds.
My first plant came from Durban Poison seeds in 1984. I was very lucky and harvested 2 pounds of fine bud. I hung that big plant in a closet. Blind luck inspired me to take a few cutting before the plant got too dry. I applied a product called rootone to the stems, put them in peat pots. A few weeks later I was thrilled to see new leaves appearing. After that, I cloned that plant 19 times over 10 years. As my skills improved, the plants became more productive. I grew for a total of 32 years. My health started to deteriorate, so I stopped gardening 5 years ago. My son has decided to start growing. So I visited a friend in the hills and got a few large clones. They are in one of my greenhouses and are thriving.

So, I've decided to dig up the 5 gallon bucket and secure the bottom as I removed it from the ground and screwed some screen on the bottom of the bucket (so I don't lose the soil within) and started bringing it inside my spare bedroom. Of which I've completely blacked out. 12/12 has been started on Thursday or Friday.. its written on the calendar. I went ahead and cut and hung a few top buds that were riddled with red hairs. But not touching anymore until the buds start to tighten up a bit more.
