Adding Flavor ?

Adding Sucanat will add a caramel flavor/aroma. Certain strains get a stonger taste/smell of caramel then others. You can get Sucanat at your local naturl food store. Get warm/hot water, and mix the sucanat in with that VERY well. You should add enough so there is 1-2 tsp. per gallon. Sucanat is a form of dark raw sugar with a molasses like consistancy. Its even darker then most organic sugars, and can be had at around $3/lb.

did i just hear that you can water with grape juice?? i'm afraid to try this, but it sounds exciting... any links? wow you guys keep me on my toes with this growing shit (:

This works. I've seen it and I'm trying it now.

A friend of mine had a bud and I was like, "This tastes like fruit punch!" He turned me on to the dude that grew it. He told me to flush the plants (for hydroponics) with clean water first for a few days and then add a cup of grape juice to the water. If you are using pots, then don't fertilize for a few weeks and then let the soil get pretty dry just before harvest and then add a cup of the juice to a gallon of water and water well. Let the soil dry again and harvest.

I have two plants in pots and I've harvested all but the top buds and I've given in the treatment. Will harvest in a day or two. I also have to in water which are maybe 45 days out and will try that too.

The dude has experience and claims that the sugars in the mixture actually increase the thc and enlarge the trics. He said I will see a noticeable difference in the amount of "crystals" that I see in just a day or two.

Another way to do this might be to cut off just one or more stems and place them in a glass of diluted grape juice for a day or two.

Now, what I'm wondering is are there other flavors that I can use? Can stuff like mint extract be used to give it a minty flavor. Does the alcohol serve the same purpose as the sugar? Or will it hurt the plant?

Anyone else?

I have friends that grow huge sativas in the mango fields in North Queensland In Australia... The buds definatly take on a mango flavour and are called mango buds.. I have used pure mango puree when flushing mixed with water 50/50 and i have to say the depending on the plant you can taste it.. Mostly worked on Sativas

Haven't tried for a while and am starting a new grow mid July. will def try this one again.

Hope this helps

get sweet leaf from advanced nutrients, it really brings out the natural flavor of the bud and adds trichs like crazy. I personally want my bud to taste how its supposed to.

Ive heard of people using one tablespoon of flavored Jello per gallon of water a few weeks before harvest and getting results. I think i might try this on one of my shishkaberrys when it gets a little further along. Anyone else ever heard of this?

I love the way that peels from citrus fruit smell as well. However, orange peels and the like are very moist; therefore adding them when you are trying to dry your buds would be counterproductive. On the contrary, in the past I have (not always) revived overly dry bud by placing it with peels from a lemon or orange. I think in those instances it only made the herb smell orangey/lemoney but not really taste much different.

True. And also.. remember this as well.
We all know.. that the taste of each different plant.. comes from its genetics. There are ways to flavor bud. To actually make it taste/smell/smoke MUCH better. Works great if you get a great deal on 2ozs' of some fairly decent Reg buds. But the smoke is hard on the throat.. this will cure all that. Remember that next time you get a bag of reg buds. ;):bigjoint::joint:

Well, I've been meaning to pick up molasses, just haven't thought about it when I was at the store. And from reading here, sound like I could just get my bottles of torni syrup out and flavor my plants hazelnut. Not really,
Actually I have thoughts of taking the indica dominant and drying, then water curing (suppose to take the chlorophyll and flaves out of the weed), dry it from the water curing, and recure in jar regularly with banna peels, maybe some apple and orange too.

if u want weed that tastes and smells like fruit, or choclate or wgatever, juicy jays makes flavor drops that u put onto ur bud right before smoking, it adds the flavor and gives it a nicer aroma, also if u have really dry weed it will burn at a perfect pace
