Aeromixer - Is it necessary?

There $300 not a crazy expense but if I don't have to buy them I won't. Are there working alternatives that are alot less? I was looking at something like this. Cheap and powerful. Will this work? Are there other better alternatives.

if your useing 3 or more part plantfood, then yes, they cant sell all 3 parts in the same bottle as they would form a solid bit in the bottle. so useing something like that is recomended.
there are unscrupuless manufacturers that will sell them in 3 part feeds because they want to extract as much cash from you as possable, they may well alll work together quite hapily, but then again they may do the same thing. your talking a lot of testing to find out, a lot of hastle to.
i havent looked at the link yet, but a small air pump may well be your best friend, cheap too

I use a 2000litre per hour power head angled slightly up to mix and aerate.

Cost me around £10/$13

I recall other growers saying air stones will raise PH so long as it’s not some super crazy aeration going on you will be solid

If anything they lower ph from the acid rain effect, imo.

Typically, you should see a substantial drop in PH initially while bubbling, because you're offgassing the enormous carbon dioxide content of the tapwater. Co2 is more soluble in cold water, so your tap water is absolutely loaded with it when it first comes out. But over time your PH will rise both due to the water warming to room temperature, and due to the bubbling. BUT BUT....over time, your PH will begin to drop again due to carbonic acid slowly forming again in the res, AND due to exposure to the plant roots, which create all sorts of organic acids through their root exudates. So both sides are right, bubbling will both drop your PH and make it rise again. FYI, pumps do it too just at a far less extreme rate of change.

Pumps heat up releasing hella co2 in the water raising the ph. I stopped agitating my water every 3 hours cause the ph was jumping .2.3 every 3 hours when the pump turned on. So I bought a milk frother. Game changer

In a 17 gal rez. I fill up. Set ec to 1.5-1.7. Ph to 5.8. By the next day. It will be 6.1. Naturally from the room temp water. But if I use a pump. That shit will jump to 6.5 6.7. Same with leaving airstones on overnight. My ph jumps to around 6.5. No roots. Just a rez

I use air stones ~$10. If I was to go aeromixer route I'd look at RV waste/sewage pump, ~$100 but is made to pump particulate.

Wave makers keep everything mixed up nice, add oxygen and create 0 heat.

Hmm, I've been using pumps in the bottom of reservoirs to keep the nutrient solution mixed for years. I've never had any of the issues some are mentioning.

I bought one of those tea Aerators and just added a few feet of pipe to go completely around the inside of my water res and drilled some holes in the pipe. It cost like 75 dollars total to make what I did. I could’ve done it cheaper but bought the tea kit and let them get me for 50 bucks. The pump was cheap and I used to use a recirculating pump to move it around but it didn’t give it to much extra oxygen

Look into fluming.

Aeromixers are crazy overpriced. Just look how overpriced some of their accessories are....brass ball valve $35 (Normally $10-15), $140 garden hose, $95 watering wand(you can find these for like $20 or make your own). The cannabis industry tax is absurd.

Had a pump in the tank for circulation and aeration first time. I could see the temp rise in the tank over a couple hours, eventually taking it well above room temp. and 88*f + wasnt good for anybody.
2 airstones do an excellent job keeping things moving and mixed w/o adding significant heat in both a 6 and 16 gallon res.
Submersible eco 185 pump runs around 10 minutes to feed 6 blocks in 24hr so it doesnt add much heat either.

How's about that?.. Instead of a pc fan, use an automobile radiator cooling fan, and make a big plastic coated 6" stir bar that sits at the bottom (or side?) of the res..

I was actually gonna make a smaller size one for mixing up my stock nutrient solutions.

I've had the idea to make a magnetic vortex stirrer like that right into the res for awhile now, ever since I first seen one years back.

Completely off topic. I plan to use some old clocks to slowly turn my plants while drying. Sorry any DIY gets me excited.
