Alberta announces framework for Provincial legalization (rec) policies

There is no height restrictions anymore!

What is very strange is, as a med patient with grow papers I HAVE a storage limit. Rec users have no storage limit at home in Alberta....

Going to be a disaster!
Well they're still calling it a proposal, and supposedly taking feedback through their survey. So there's a chance they'll change some of the proposed provincial rules. But they have the right to do whatever they want provincially, even though the height restrictions (for outdoor) were removed federally. here's what they said in their proposal...
  • Four plants can be grown per household, to a maximum height of one metre each.
  • Outdoor growing will be banned.

Any links to the survey?

Ontario/Wynne haven't stated anything about home grows for rec policy. At least I haven't seen anything official about it. Anyone?

My expectation for Wynne's outdoor and home growing policy is no different than Alberta's proposed policy. She's a control freak and that would be the most logical policy in her tiny, little, useless mind.

That will cost taxpayers a few hundred g's, like always. We have to pay for our rights... not arguing, just stating that rec users will need to fight for their rights. This is prohibition 2, not legalization. legalization will happen once we've had enough court battles to pay for those rights, not twisted policies geared towards maximum revenue which the provinces are looking for.

As medical folks. .we have to fight it all over again with pro2 in place
we're no different from the rest in the eyes of Pro 2

Until they change the medical laws/program what medical users have to do is exercise their rights and push back against being trampled on by rec laws. Interesting times for sure. I laugh my ass off when someone offline asks me if I'm excited about legalization, most have no idea what's going on other than the odd headline about "legalization" lol

Didn't see this posted, just flashed across my newsfeed about an hour ago.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/alberta-provincial-rules-marijuana-cannabis-1.4327491

Highlights:
  • 18 and over
  • 30g limits (same as federal)
  • 4x plants with 1 metre height restrictions
  • NO OUTDOOR
  • Controlled (government) distribution/retail
Must have been comparing notes with Wynne...
Just to be clear, the distribution and retail aspect is still very much up for discussion at least in terms of the framework conceptualized thus far. They have identified two options, the Ontario version or private retail outlets that would have to obtain inventory/product from government regulated providers.

I would be nice if they considered other views/options. Ontario supposedly did and went the monopoly route. Pretty sure that was Wynne's plan all along.

You mean a "Dispensary" (:... would have to bend over and take shwags up the wazzooo..:hump::idea::spew::shock::o

that s great as long as they can buy from any source they want as long as it is clean EASY TEST....
The shwags won't sell..
will be returned.. lol.. no more retail sales...
so much for shwags
(:

Yup thats why I prefaced my post with 'to be clear' as I was simply pointing out that it could be a bit of a different arrangement comparatively to Ontario.

I certainly don't subscribe to the framework and for some reason I am not convinced that they will be able to purchase from anyone even if it is clean. I suspect that this model would support the existing and future legal producers.... hope I am wrong but it feels like that is the spirit behind the framework.

They plan to decide on the retail distribution part by the end of october I think. The are holding consultation and engagements sessions throughout the month I believe. Again, as an Albertan (ontario transplant)I am not holding my breath at all.

I think it could be slightly better than ontario but still not go far enough. From.whay I have been reading BC might be the only sensible province but I will need to see what they propose before concluding that.

If we hold the task force to their own statements,bm growers will have the opportunity to become legal growes
