Your on the right path but there's a couple things I would be weary of.. I don't have any experience with MG products but I've heard good and bad things about them so I'll let someone with more experience help you with that..

As far as the cfl's, the 5000k will work for veg and so will the tube you can also use it in flowering but you will need more 2700k cfl's when you switch the light schedule.. 2700k is whats needed when the plants are ready to flower.

As far as when should you switch, it depends on what space your working with.. Try to give more info, you growing in a box, closet etc..

Also I didn't see anything about ventillation or any type of ph tester, these are two key components in growing.. Hope this helped you a little anyway, good luck!

So you germinated your seeds already? And planted them? Are they under lights? Have they popped above soil?

(Also, pictures really helps everyone to help you!)

What are you going to put them into? Jiffy pellets? Peat pellets? Rockwool? Soil? As far as light, some people throw them under 24/0 and some people throw them into 18/6. It's up to you, personally, I do 18/6. Also, make sure to keep humidity high until they pop out of their medium.

Yea hes right, I'm on 24hr veg lol.. Pick one and stick with it, they all will work 18/6, 20/4 or 24..

If you growing with cfl's, I would highly recommend keeping your plants 2.5ft and under.. Actually around 2 ft would be perfect! In order to do this you have to switch them to flowering "12/12 light cycle" early. I wouldn't let them get more than 10 inches tall before you switch the lights.. The reason is they will at least double possibly triple in size!

from a "small cfl" user and user of MG products I will say you are on the right path for sure . Make sure when you mix your nutrient solutions you dillute the fertilizers I usually use .5 tsp per 2 gallons of water even weaker when I first start. Also the soil is loaded with ferts already so don't feed too soon. As far as the lights the more the merrier I use y adapters in the 8.5 or 10 inch reflectors the clip on style real easy to use. The tube flouros are good for very young seedlings keep the lights close. I run 24 hours in veg. I put my plants to flower at about 1 ft tall. Good luck

miracle grow is trash... you can never leach the soil because of the time release aspect of of miracle grow pellets. Stay away and find your local HydroPonics station for the correct nutes. GL

I am tired of people saying to go to your local hydro store --most of us do not have a hydro store--maybe if you live in Cali------this is a world wide chat room--we do not have hydro stores on every corner---forgive me if I sound like a dyk---he is or she--is doing just fine too start--give them good info or do not give them anything at all!!!Good luck too your grow--it will be fine--read some threads--do your best--that is all you can do--as time goes on u will learn too improvise--with chit that is near u---here again GL---Coal

I did not know obviously, but all you had to say is that you were not near one and I could reply more specifically or even offer up calling into one for you. My local hydroponic store has a national number you can call for advice and order direct at pretty reasonable prices. If you specifically ask for their info I will provide but I do not advertise for anyone.

I suggest Fox Farm Ocean forest.

My point above about miracle grow is what I have read on many threads and my local experts. peace

THanks coal, MG can be just fine if used in very small amounts...I use mg all purpose and foxfarm big bloom for veg and mg bloom buster, ff tiger bloom, ff bigbloom and molasses for flower..and a pinch of Epson salt with every other watering. And my kids sit in FF ocean forest. You really need the 6500k for veg but iv used a shitload of 5500k before and they worked just fine...good luck man
