American Education System

All a curious person needs to do in order to ascertain the cause of the decline of the USA's school system is to scrutinize the difference in quality of America's public school education before the advent of the noxious and destructive influence of UNIONS. Teachers unions were largely nonexistent before the early 1960s..... good job unionized teachers....way to go! :eyesmoke:

Children of today are being taught to go with the flow, not to be an individual and at all costs, eliminate the ability for critical thinking. This is the scenario that plays out before me on a daily basis.
I have had very candid discussions with several teachers and superintendents and they know that all that is cared about is the test scores and attendance.

I for one hold the older teachers in very high regard, as it takes a special person to accomplish it successfully. I see newer teachers that are so "conditioned" by the system that they could care less about anything that goes on in the classroom outside of test prepping, sad at best.

They no longer teach cursive writing and within the next 10 years, they will phase out all handwriting skills after the 3rd grade. Big Chief tablets and Husky pencils are becoming a thing of the past at an alarming rate.

If you are not involved in your childrens education to the uttermost, you are shortchanging your childs future severely. They are teaching your children to be conformists, nothing more.

That's 200k in Aussie Monopoly money tho...

What is it in a REAL currency?

EDIT: Wow currencies have fluctuated a bit since I last looked, that works out at 215,000 USD or 157,000 EUR.

I stand corrected.
I call on you to prove me wrong... I wouldn't be putting 4years into a trade otherwise. I think it was you that previously mentioned AU's strong resource sector

Wow, tis better to be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt. Just trying to help you out, nothing personal.

If you believe that is the primary function of the public education system, then you are truly a dolt and have no business on this thread.

Not in the mining sectors... It also depends who you're with. Self employed contractors still do very well on 100k+. Thing is, certian mines are very remote, with no towns or facilities near by. They'll fly you in for 10 hr shift each day for 14 days, then fly you back home for 10 days off. Then repeat. IMO though, worth $200k a year. Average 3 bedroom house here on a qtr acre block is $450k... Think about it that way!

You sciolistic dingbat, my youngest is now out of college and doing well. Do you not pay attention to anything you see, wait, don't answer that, we already know.

You are terribly butthurt about something, I personally don't think it is a racial matter like you want it to be, but more along the lines of how do you get your wife to talk dirty to you like she does to Sancho.
If you ask her nicely, she just might show you....lol

what kind of future does my kid have if he is not socialized? if he does not know basic conformity?

there's a reason why people don't show up to interviews in flip flops, and there's a reason why knowing how to get along with others is critical to functioning in society.

DIAF.

Wow crying that public schools are teaching conformity
and at the same time thinking no tolerance should be taught about this

You and Chesus are so far off topic, I am not speaking of the past of education, but where it is at today and where it is headed in the future. Basic rules of society yes, but to eliminate the ability to be an individual and capable of self awareness and critical thought is what is being diminished at an alarming rate. If you do not think that is the case, you are nowhere near where you need to be in your childrens education, shame on you as a father.

Now, lets see what other ignorant sludge you can add to this post.
