American Education System

You and Chesus are so far off topic, I am not speaking of the past of education, but where it is at today and where it is headed in the future. Basic rules of society yes, but to eliminate the ability to be an individual and capable of self awareness and critical thought is what is being diminished at an alarming rate. If you do not think that is the case, you are nowhere near where you need to be in your childrens education, shame on you as a father.

Now, lets see what other ignorant sludge you can add to this post.

Lots of big words with little merit
I suggest you run for the school board and straighten them out

how so?

i took all AP classes in high school (until i got booted for truancy despite having straight As) and they were full of critical thought and self awareness and all that shit.

hell, about twice a year we would do self evaluations to figure out what kind of career would satisfy us. they still do that all the time. that's self awareness right there.

give me some examples there, chief.

i preferred to get high and play golf instead of going to class. didn't see the point of attending when i was already getting As. they booted me because they lose money out of next year's budget for every time i ditched. i still walked with my class.

and i did get a college education, dropped out when i realized i wasn't really learning anything anymore.

isn't it getting late for you?

You speak as if you graduated hs yesterday. When was the last time you spent an entire day at an elementary/intermediate school, I would bet along time with the answers you are bringing to the table. If you could watch how the teachers act towards these children and how much personal attention they receive, you would be one angry father or should be anyway.

Now on to the meat and potatoes. They place so much emphasis on these tests that it is almost unreal. They have removed many stories from the history books and only keep the ones that coincide with the agenda. Social studies will be a blast from the past in just a few short years, it is going away right along with writing and civics. Almost all of the 4H and AG classes are gone from grade schools now, soon they will leave the high schools as well. They are teaching the children that anything and everything the government does is okay and really should not be questioned. The propaganda on the walls is enough to make you sick. I will take my little chicken scratch camera with me to work and bring some pics of the signs and slogans they have plastered all over the walls in these schools, then we will continue on with the discussion.

The damage is being done in the classroom by teachers who are told what to teach and how to teach it, very little personal interaction. I blame the parents as much as the education system, because most parents look at school like a daycare and nothing more. I think it is time for a few bong rips.

did you even bother to read? i got kicked out, i was costing them money. didn't matter that i had a nearly 4.0 gpa in AP classes.

and there's a difference between getting fired and quitting a job. i've only ever been fired twice, and once was because i left a big bag of pot in the break room. the other time they said it was a termination, but i still collected UI. it was more of a layoff.

you just have no idea what i'm capable of.

you don't have to justify your life to me.

Today as a matter of fact, just like everyday as I work in all the local schools. It is what I do for a living, keeping the masses comfortable while they get thier wonderful education.

I have seen the best and worst in the public education systems and I can tell you for sure, it is going downhill in a hurry.

Yes, I did... You got kicked out of high school and College. You cant keep a job because you are not smart enough to go to work without bringing drugs and leaving them lying around and it is everyone elses fault for what a failure you have become in life...

And telling you when I usually go to bed is hardly justifying my life to you...

every time I read one of your post it gives me an unquestionable urge to play golf. I hate not being able to in this weather. Do you have one of those things for inside where it's like a tiny mini green for you to putt into, at home? In the office? You're giving me such a terrible urge to play I almost want to go out and buy one of those stupid things to curve the craving.

edit: a cup will probably suffice but how to recreate the tiny hill they have? hmmm..maybe some well placed lincoln logs for the ball to roll up or something, I'm about to get all creative with some books and shit

those indoor systems would ruin my swing. i was thinking of setting one up in the greenhouse for the winter, but decided i had better things to spend my money on.

i am lucky to live in portland, oregon. the ocean keeps us above freezing for the most part. only a few days a year when it is too cold to play, but about half the year it's playing in mud.
