Android Users Question

How do you get your phone to stay fast? Mine is soooo slow after about a month of use. I got the advanced killer app, but shit constantly keeps running even though i turn it off, the ram seems to be always full as well. The only solution is I have to factory reset the phone every couple weeks. I have a sony xperia arc.

I heard there are custom operating systems u can install on android phones? But I have no idea which ones are any good.

reading this made me so happy i don't have a smartphone. sounds ilke a hassle.

I did have an iphone 3G and it was good, but I sold it lol. Even though it was slow, i wish i had it back.

Xperias are known to be pretty slow..and most of the custom operative systems you mentioned are not supported by sony ericsson, even though it's android...

sony anything is horribad. Just never buy sony anything again unless its a console system/handheld. They have horrible support and the quality is usually really bad compared to other companies.

HTC .. root..flash.. bam 100% faster. clean up all the bloatware that comes factory on the phone.

what kinda apps you got runnin? i love my droid x. i dont have hardly any issues with it and i drop that bitch all the time and it has yet to break.

I say, droid sucks... most phones, or their os crash and get all flaky after a short period of time... we go through them like rolling papers!

I got rid of app killer and it seemed to do the trick.

i have a sony laptop and it kicks ass. 3 pounds..

no speed issues on my droid x...just as fast as the day I got it over a year ago.

I got so fucking mad at my android I threw it and broke it.

I haven't had a phone in like 3 months. I just ordered a blackberry curve yesterday.

Fucking phones.

i have an evo shift. fuck task killers, they're bullshit. if an app doesn't show up under "what's been using the battery" then there's no point wasting ram on an app killer to kill apps that aren't even draining the phone. my phone is slow as shit right now because i went searching for updates. the updates are nice but now every time i try to go to the home screen i get this white htc screen and it takes 10 seconds to load the home screen. if sprint's customer service wasn't so horrifyingly bad i would've had it taken care of a long time ago.

I like taskiller for the ability to close out of internet pages quickly and easily..

I have an LG Optimus S, you can get this free when you sing up, so its not a top of the line phone. First off dont use a task killer. makes your phone slower and takes apps longer to open and slower browser function. also kills battery. My Optimus s (free) was faster than my buddys droid 2 with a bunch of junk on it. (300$). Pretty much don't DL anything crazy, get a large SD card and get an app in the market called apps to sd and move all the apps you can to your sd card. this will free up phone memory . and will make your phone run faster

when i had an android i had an app called appkill or something like that it was a cleaner that shut down all apps that were running in background

You don't need a App killer. The app killers are a thing of the past. When the first Android OS came out they were great. But now the OS is made for the apps to be running in the background. What Total Head said in the above post is Very True " if an app doesn't show up under "what's been using the battery" then there's no point wasting ram on an app killer to kill apps that aren't even draining the phone"
