is root hormone absolutely necesary or will the root grow on its own given enough time?

It'll grow on it's own. Lots of people don't even use rooting hormone.

yes but better to use the hormones. faster rooting by a long shot.

i would recommend clonex or rootone gels they work good. if ur concerned about being 100% organic u can suspend ur cut in a cup of water, make sure the cup is dark, and set it in a window seal but not in direct sunlight

ah okay, is it necessary to put in a cup? or can i just plant it directly?

just use your clonex... best stuff on the market. stay away from B cuzz... wasted a tray an a free sample of that stuff.
