Anti-Trump Protests

What you described -- letting hospitals defray ER costs on other patients -- is what we had before the ACA. It was already part of your health care costs if you used anybody associated with the medical care system. So, I don't know what you are talking about. You want hospitals in your area, don't you? If so, then somehow those indigent ER patients that the hospital treats had to be paid for.

Setting the ACA aside, outcomes are better and costs are lower when people have access to outpatient or health maintenance care. If you want lower costs then this is the path to achieving it. I don't care if it is the ACA, I'd prefer universal health care coverage for everybody.

Obamacare was not fully funded by Congress according to the original legislation. And so, in order to meet the obligations that were also part of the legislation, the money had to come from somewhere. If you don't like the premium increase, blame Congress. And, nobody insists you participate in an ACA plan. You can shop around for something outside of it. I don't think you will be pleased.
No, I am not describing anything but what I am describing. You keep ascribing things to my plan that confuses you.

If someone gets care they pay for it unless they cant pay for it then they end up on a payment plan unless they have no income and then the government picks up the cost paid for by the taxpayers.

I am not on an ACA plan and I have been told multiple times not to change to one unless it is absolutely necessary. My healthcare cost is already the largest payment I make by 150%. And I am under 50 and healthy with no major claims my entire life.

You are happy that you can foist the payments on someone else while you ignore your poor employees ignoring their healthcare issues while making bank owning a poison factory. How many workers have died from the chemicals they have to work with? You are truly an evil man. I bet you talk socialist shit in the daytime and go suck Rush Limbaughs dick at night.

I agree but there is a flaw with that i mean i have money i eat healthy there fore usually never sick i get placed into a group with the same people our premiums are less because were healthy eat and diet properly

now you have a lower income family put into same group kids are unhealthy beause of there hunger so sickkness and disease is common there placed into a group where premiums are high because percentages are percentages

I sure do not want them in my group my premiums will increase from there usage right
So how can it really equal out
What you describe -- a pool of healthy people with low healthcare premiums and another more sickly group without coverage but access to ER when they experience a health crisis is exactly what we had before the ACA. The medical care system charged everybody with the means to pay more so the could cover the indigents at their doorstep. As a result, the US healthcare system costs more with worse outcomes than any other nation with a similar economy. I don't understand how what you say you want is sustainable.

If you suggest we just let low income workers or unemployed people die when they get sick, then that's a different discussion.

Take a million dollars. Subtract 500,000 from it. How much is left? Losing that money is called "risk". If you can absorb that kind of risk and live with half your savings, then insurance isn't worth it.

On the other hand, a couple, working or not, each age 62, not yet in Medicare, almost certainly can't afford that risk to their retirement savings. For them the risk to their retirement savings is small but can be eliminated by health care coverage. How much per year are we talking about for a couple? 6 or 8 k per year? Some years this kind of coverage isn't used up, other years more than that is consumed. If the couple has a million in the bank, they can afford to hedge the risk of a catastrophic health care cost by purchasing insurance.

In any case, this is hypothetical for the vast majority of people. The average savings in this country is tiny. They either must pay for healthcare coverage or risk bankruptcy, in which case the hospital has to spread the unpaid balance among it's other patients. Before the ACA, bankruptcy due to medical costs was a huge cause, even for insured people.
But very low risk. People where I w

Somebody making $30,000 a year gets stuck with $100,000 bill because their kid got really sick. Do you think they will ever pay it off? Does the hospital have to carry a 30 year loan or something like that?

Are you suggesting we expand the Medicaid system to cover more low wage workers? That might work. How about expanding it to cover everybody? That would actually be cheaper than the system we use today.

If you want a quality health care system with adequate hospitals available to everybody then it is not cheap. Employers don't want to lose workers to diseases either. They are expensive to replace. It has to be paid for somehow. The ACA is a moot point. The republican congress and Trump will wipe it out. I'm unaware of what they plan to replace it with.

Well who ever said it was a cruel world just look at the animal kingdom are we really any different ?? i mean there is going to be a time where we have to control population right we only have so much food and Air :)
We have hunted animals to extinction.
Many species are going to be extinct next year, And we have a soft heart for a weak person that truly is a burden to society and everyone in General ..
I know its harsh but human population control is not if but when it will start. how are we to reach the stars when we become weak as a species
I just watched a movie and wonder could these be our future. Sounds insane but is it really

I see a lot of people abusing healthcare treatments and going in for things unnecessarily.
Preventive care is the lowest cost option. But I hear you about people going in for unnecessary treatments and expensive tests that are no better than other lower cost tests or in some cases no proven value. I don't know how you would regulate against that.

As I understand it, the biggest driver of high health care costs in the US is the policy of making the ER the place of last resort for people who are unable to pay. After that, cost of unnecessary tests or tests that have no medical value is probably low hanging fruit for cost reductions.

Just saying that other countries manage their healthcare delivery system very well without people dying in the streets. A good healthcare delivery system is very cost effective when managed well. Unlike the US.

The outlier at about 17% of GDP is the US.

Healthy people make better workers than sick ones. There is a cost-benefit to healthcare in terms of productivity of a nation. Instead of joining the third world, how about we work on getting our spending and quality of care to within other developed nation's norms?

I'm sure the opposite would've happened if Hillary won. With the possibility of violence.
Easy to make things up in your head that are obviously unsubstantiated. We have found out that at leas a portion of the violence at the trump rallies was bought and paid for by the DNC. Not surprising you would expect the same shitty behavior from the other side.

I'm beginning to realize that the right simply weren't listening to what was said before the election. Trump and his supporters were pretty honest and open about protesting the result of the election if they didn't win.

Unless you are Trump and you never had to worry about money. He was the scammer, including retired people. He used lawsuits to bully people. He refused to pay thousands of people who have fruitlessly filed liens against him. Some of those went out of business because they trusted Benedict Donald.

But hey, that's just crazy talk. He's going to be the saviour of the middle class. He said so himself.
