anyone ever grown Sugar?

Hey everyone,

The other day in a bag I bought I came across a single seed. Other than that seed, the bud is of the highest quality. I've been told the strain is Sugar (buddy is a true professional and always knows exactly what he's selling).

So, assuming that the seed is viable and turns out female, does anyone know what sort of flowering period I should be expecting for this strain?

have a fabulous day, folks!

"I live in Northern CA, the weed here is consistently excellent quality but the most memorable strain for me is a tie between Indoor Sugar and Granddaddy Purple.

Indoor sugar was a mostly Sativa hybrid, light green with a ridiculous amount of trichomes and a very mild flavor"

.

There are a lot of strains with Sugar in the name but nothing I can find as just "Sugar" as a strain. Even large strain lists only have Sugar as part of the name, but I have seen Sugar refered to as the name of a strain a couple of times. If I find something I'll post it.

Sudden Impact (Blue Grass) [Mr. Nice G13 X Hashplant] X AK-47
Sugar Babe (Paradise) Afghani X Swiss White Strain
Sugar Baby (NCGA) Vic High’s Orange Crush X G13 Blue Widow
Sugar Daddy (Capricorn) California Indica X Sugar Blossom
Sugar Klingon (Dutch Flowers) Klingonberry X Fig Widow Queen
Sugar Klingon II (Canadian Seed Co.) Klingonberry X Fig Widow Queen
Sugar Loaf (Canna Biogen) Landraces; Pakistan X Capricho
Sugarwarp (Reeferman) Texada Timewarp X Burmese
Summer Queen (No Mercy) Everest Queen X Northern Light

hey, thanks for the reply Hobbes! I too, have only been able to find strains with "sugar" as part of the name, so I assume what I bought was one of those...

Whatever it was, it sure was a nice smoke! I really hope that seed germs.

peace!

umm, not necessarily. ever bought a feminized seed? basically the same thing....

as I said in my initial post, the bag isn't loaded with seeds. I found one, and other than that it's top of the line bud. This means obviously it wasn't hermie or have bad genetics, but just produced a few odd seeds due to perhaps localized heat stress on one cola, or pollen contamination, or whatever.

I personally don't understand why so many people are terrified of getting even a single seed on a plant. Means you don't have to buy them. The worst that happens is the resulting phenotype sucks, or it goes hermie, and you chop it. The best is that you find a unique and wonderful phenotype that only you will possess.
Obviously I understand why commercial growers would not want any seeds, as it lowers their yield and the value of the product. But for us home growers, why not?
