anyone ever overdrive wal mart t8 shoplights

i was just wondering if anyone has done this and if they could give me a good explaination how.

well, i just did it, found a site online that had the know how, its cool though, you can really see that more power is going to those lights.forgot site but all you do basically is take 2 shoplight fixtures and get the ballast out of them and have the two ballast ends be both sides of your "new" fixture, hook it all back up to original housing and blam, it really is brighter, i just dont know how much, i woudl liek to assume double because now one bulb is getting the power load of two bulbs

ok guys, i have overdrove two ballasts and now i got two bulbs in one fixture that is brighter than before, anyone know if this practice is unsafe or does it not matter?>

the bulbs get abit hotter and the lifespan shortens somewhat.
