Probly, why they gotta make this so hard
finding the right car is never easy... you gotta go test a few out. take a drive or 2 the one that feel right will talk to you... That's how I ended up with my truck. I blew up my mustang and didn't know what to get at all... but once I saw my truck I knew it was meant to be. Took it for a drive and it was done. used-2004-ford-f~150-lariat65ftsbtruckextendedcab-3710-852072-1-400.jpg not a picture of my actual truck but close mine has a step... stay high

My very first car was a 1992 cadillac...and I was chronically too broke to drive it too far...lol. Big cars have big engines, that need lots of gas...and that isn't so great on small just starting college wallets...at least it was terrible for my just starting school small wallet...so that is a big something to think about.

im 18 about to start collage and i need a reliable car, do you think this cadillac is good or bad?

http://treasure.craigslist.org/cto/3180939026.html

One thing to be careful about concerning older Cadillacs is that with their North Star engines, the all Aluminum block/heads and the bolts especially, they stretch and loose their tight seal and the engine will have tiny pin leaks under pressure (at the gaskets) with the water circulating. To rebuild the engine is a few grand as all the holes have to get Heli-coils put in them and you wind up re-tapping everything. My 1997 STS had this happen at 65K miles! I hated to give it up, was the BEST car I ever owned but then again I don't miss the <10 MPG I got. Get something pre OBD-II (1996) and put an HAFC (Hydrogen Assist Fuel Cell) system in it and you'll get in the 40-50 MPG from something that started out at 20MPG's!!! Serious! I tried to make a go of it installing these systems but everyone here has never cars and the HAFC systems will NOT ever work in a car that is OBD-II.

I would definitely heed sfttailpaul's advice and stay away from the Northstars. They're legendary for being troublesome and expensive. cn

Sfttailpaul is a poster a coupla pages back who wrote a neat and true paragraph about Northstar engines. He has the sandwich-and-Duracell avatar. cn

My first was a '76 Cutlass Supreme. Carbureted. Slurped the money sauce and didn't go fast. Anyway, with a baby ... those two barn doors'd get old fast. I'd go with the Caprice or Marquis, of all the choices offered so far. How about a Park Avenue Ultra? Buick's evergreen V6 and a luxury interior ... cn
