Anyone have info about big sur holy weed

i got a bunch of seeds from an old hippy that got his seeds from a guy who used to run from mexico. He always said put a shit load of pepper in your car so the dogs just sneeze any time you travel with shit but anyhow we are talkin these seeds are about 12 years old and im having a hell of a time finding info on the strain.

what i have learned is.......

it may have originated from a strain called Zacatecas puple and i also know nothing about this varitey.

it was later crossed with afgani to make a strain called S.A.G.E.

i think i read somewhere it has a high thc content and big buds, i cant wait to see if they germinate.

it can grow in higher temps well

Any info that one may have on this strain would be very appreciated. This is one of those plants that was lost before people started going online and weed strians became well known. I hope to find some word of mouth info on the plant cause im not finding much elswhere!

well it seems like sage is still a popular strain? I dont have room but i want to try these sooo bad

thanks for the info i got 12 in the soil 2 seeds a cell cause they are so old anuone had any luck germinating older seeds?

so far i have two of each! One of each also started sprouting and then rotted out? I am stoked about this cause the folks who gave these seeds to me dont fuck around they smoke the best pot!!!!! The santa rosa i could find nothing about it may be something a person picked up and called it that but for old seed it looks great

I am going to take pics today i had some real quick sprouters and now i have alot more that are just breaking the soil. The trader of the seeds said her plants took about nine wees to harvest ofter flowering? this seems short for a sativa? I just cant wait to see what i get from it i will try a few diffrent methods of growing it we shall see what works best?

well the pic sortta suck but as they grow the pic thing will be better, i am lovin these little babies they are very cute and range from 3-8 days old!!! I am stoked about this grow cant wait to smoke weed that i smoked like 13 years ago!!!!!! I hope that i get something worth seeding out of this not sure if i will ever have the balls to buy seeds so has anyone ever tried setting up a super small erea to set up a space to breed super small clones. you know what i mean clone males and females and let them breed in a seperate grow space, then i can get seeds without having them hold up harvest to get them ripe.

i took these pics with the light on and they are not the best but as you can see they look good, i do want to change the mix i use for germinating and i like the idea of having a dome of some sort for a few days the top dries out fast.

I have just used a hps for veg and flowering and i can say that i definitely have a higher ratio of males than ever before and i think that this is due to the hps lamp emitting a lot of red light.
So far i have only got 6 females out of 27 plants.
I wont be recommending using a hps for veg.
I have no proof of this but my gut instinct is that the hps has caused it.
If your ballast doesnt take mh bulbs try using a mh/hps conversion bulb

kaya.. I just recently found 8 northern lights #5 seeds that I had stashed away some 10+ years ago. Only 2 sprouted and 1 was very wimpy and died. The only one left is healthy but looks a bit small compared to the ak47 seedlings it is growing with. I use the paper towel method for germination..Good luck with those oldies but goodies...

i am increadably impressed witht he germ rate of these old seedlings and the plants are looking amazing!!!! The ;eaves are increadably big for the small size of the plants but i used a jiffy mix this go round and i hate it!!!!! O well the big sur looks good.....pics later

thanks natmoon thats a concideration!!! I almost got that bulb but it was more and i got soooo much stuff. first batch i got lucky with 7 out of 12 females!!

hey bongspit how ya been, im lovin these little guys they are so diffrent than the other plants i have grown!!! I think they like to be bushes so i may veg them for a bit 4 weeks or something, see how fast they grow? cant wait to see how they grow out!!!!!!!!!!!
