Is it worth the switch? My room is wired up for 240v with a 35 amp max draw(lighting only) and has 8 foot ceilings in full bloom ill run 2 1000s and a 600. With dual end bulbs would i be able to ditch the 1000s and run 600s with a similar coverage? Im tired of cleaning the glass on reflectors and replacing bulbs every cycle, if the de bulbs last way longer thats a positive.
Im worried about headspace as i run on a table that sits about 16 inches off the floor, my pots are about 12 inches tall, do i have the height required for de bulbs?
Thanks for any help

I don't think you have the height brotha. I switched to DE with 10 ft ceilings and barely have enough room. You need 36 inches from the bulb to canopy and a lot of the DEs have the ballast connected to them which limit height even more. You might be able to run the 750 gavitas and get away with it. I just built my first diy leds with Cree cobs and they are much brighter and much cooler then the DEs expensive but cheaper in the long run. Let us know what you decide to do

You would have to flower rooted clones or train the hell out of them to keep them short enough. I'm sure it's possible but your saying you don't want to clean glass and reflectors but either way your going to have to. And if you don't get aircooled DEs then your going to have to invests some decent cash on ac as well

A buddy of mine picked up the Ac DE reflectors from indoor grow science. Their bulb fires off a digital 1000w ballast. Might be worth looking into. They are a very nice hood, was really impressed with the quality
