^^^^^^^^^^^ diy led costs more than buying panels right now. the leds alone cost the same as an a51 panel.

when building your own pc became mainstream. already built computers became and still are fasr cheaper than just buying the same quality motherboard alone

Just to report, I ordered from area 51 today. Went back and forth via email for the last week (3 email exchanges) and got a response within 24 hours each time. After my order received multiple emails with confirmation of order. So far smooth sailing and hopefully my light will be here next week. Regarding DIY, always great in theory....but like the computer more people than not don't want to build a computer or make a LED grow light. Sure some people will geek out on it but I rather spend my time on geeking on the grow and not lights, building cabinets, and all that other external stuff. Just give me something that works, is reliable and hassle free and I will gladly spend the extra money for the piece of mind.

Seems like all the 1-2 light buyers paying full price are getting through just fine :( repeat customers or volume buyers are having "Email difficulties" I'm just sayin.

Not true, I'm a repeat customer, and I didn't have any email difficulties.
My XGS-190 should be here next week.

You among others are lucky, I bought 6 and didn't hear a peep when inquiring about the xgs-190's, so as much of a fan i was ....It would take a really advanced light down the road to go back to them, I'm looking for a 4x4 light but not shelling out for an apache 660

I did consider them, I bought a smart grow induction light and it has been great for veg, I never attempted flower tho. Reason I bought it is i got it on ebay for 500 slightly used, when it retailed on their website for 795. But indagro did stick in my head just not sure.

I did not find EHs reply at all out of line, or pompous. The intent of the written word is easily misinterpreted
When I tried to email them after ordering my panel, I had the exact same problem. I had used their contact form on the website and got no reply. Only after responding directly to my order confirmation email did I get a response fairly quickly. The XGS-190 is a fine piece of equipment, although louder and hotter than the claims on their website would have you believe. Also the owner of A51, EH is a bit pompous and doesn't seem to care what his customers think. I think he read too many Steve Jobs books.

DIY LED is going to be the future. As the parts keep coming down in price, you'll start to see more kits and how-tos popping up everywhere. My bet is that before long, you'll be able to easily make your own custom-made light that'll smoke anything on the market--and likely for less money too.

Remember when custom-building PCs went mainstream? Yeah... ...That.

When you inquire about a product, what right-minded business owner tells a customer to return it and they don't want your business? The soup Nazi?

Years ago I owned a high end audio store. Dealing with people who don't know what they want, pick your brain then shop for cheapest price. If they buy, they often change their mind and want to return it...It gets old

I've worked in retail as we'll, and do sympathize with that scenario. However to lose your cool--publicly--in what amounts to an a51 marketing thread is a bit pompous is all I'm saying. Speaks about his character. Wonder if he got his Tesla yet, hehehe.

I think Im going to grab 2 more lights. 1 sgs 160 and 1 xgs 190 then have 3 for a 4x5

I'll be grabbing a new 3x3 tent, and 4 inch inline, shortly.
Once I do, I'll be running clones from one of the sativa leaning phenos of Timewreck I have, under the XGS-190.
If all goes well, I'll be picking up some more A51 LED's a little later.

Santa, I hope you're able to upgrade to some A51 lights some day, they're quite remarkable.
I think you would be pleasantly surprised by the increase in the quality of your crop, I was.

Nice panel Karma, bad ass............are their cutouts where the emitters are^^^ ?? or are the leds completely covered by pmma/glass/whatever???

I understand you want to protect the emitters BUT those light loses are brutal:P especially when dealing with secondary lens losses on top of that....

be safe grower

I'm thinking of adding a Xgs 190 in a 4x4 with a sgs 160. Might even grab 2 more depending on how they perform. So far the sgs 160 is rocking a 2x3 tent full of party cups and 1 gallons
