arent you guys worried about getting busted from posting pics of your plants?

I have some plants that look healthy but one of them has two leaves that twisted. Its not getting any worse but it looks like its trying to tell me something and I wanted to post pics like everyone does on here but it seems risky to me.. Aren't you guys worried? Do you take any sort of precautions when you post your pics?

OP - nothing to fear buddy, thousands of people on here post pics

If you get busted with plants at your house having pics wont make the sentence any worse..not like they need to prove the plants were yours (assuming indoor in your own house here)..

If you mean can they see the pics and track them, they can request for rollitup to release your ip and access time, then ask your isp who had that ip at the time and they would have your name...however rollitup wouldnt pass the info on without being forced to by a warrant im sure, and if they have a warrant you can be sure they already have you by the balls anyways...so post away this may be the one place you can brag without worry!

yea forreal, and seriously do u think any feds wud mess with you when theres pics of million$$ grow OPs? if they were busting people on RIU it wudnt the average everyday grower, they wud make it worth there while

The Internet is not owned by anyone. You can set your profile setting on users only. If you do so, NO ONE can use anything on this site against you.. This is because RIU's disclamers states, " by clicking this box you confirm that you are not a part of any law enforcement........ blah blah." So no im not worried at all...

My guess is

Just know that if they gave any of your personal data to a 3rd party then *they* would be committing a crime. clients database they need a judge to demand it - and it must be a judge within the applicable territory of course.

but if you have got to that stage your 'up shit creek with out a paddle'

Just use a proxy when on the net if you are that worried

If your worried, there are things you need to know most of the newer digital cameras put what is called exif info in the data of the pic this is true of ALL cell phones that have GPS data in them that show exactly where the photo was taken

I run my pics thru a program (graphics workshop) that re-writes them and changes this info so I don't worry about the pic itself telling anyone where my grow is

I also post this thread about a cheap easy way to hide your ip address but no one seemed interested in it?

Plus I'm medically legal in Colorado so don't give it a lot of thought, but there are ways to cover your ass and still enjoy all that RIU has to offer

Problem is your basically posting an exe link and I dont just go off peoples word as far as clicking random exe files. Very simple to reverse engineer this but I guess if it makes you feel safe, the hops to your isp cannot be faked unless you just spoof your mac address. better to just use free proxy addresses than install ANYTHING, +rep for digital cam info

Just be careful. If you aren't a legal grower - make sure your pics don't include anything about you or your home that could identify you.

my concern has always been people who talk about future grows or perpetul grows say that person was raided by the feds and for whatever reason they took the computers now how can that person claim its a 1 time personal grow when they have spilled there guts all over riu about harvesting a pound every month lol

I'm legal and stick to the state law, my pics only prove I'm not breaking the law.

Yeah don't worry i'm a very paranoid person and i still am not that worried. Just don't post pics with your face or anything else revealing (address in background, any one else, or surrounding buildings) also don't give away anything to revealling. And also if they did get a warrant on this site, they wouldn't waste time busting me or you who just grow a couple plants, they will bust the people with big grow ops who post pics of their 100+ plants lol. So don't worry man
