I have spent the past 25 year researching alternative medical treatments for illnesses such as clinical depression, scitzophenia, mania and arthritis. My home area is infested with mosquitos and during my travels I studied in depth malaria and the only 100% cure, Artemisia Annua. I have developed a simple vaporization delivery system that, when combined with dried Artemisia leaves will I believe provide a free and effective cure for malaria. With no pharmaceutical processing.
I have tested this system on myself and have proven that artesinuate, the active chemical, survives the 400 F (205 C) vaporization process. The beauty of vaporization of artemisia annua lies in the cost, it is free to grow by all. And that the chemical is absorbed into the blood stream through the lungs and first passes through the blood brain barrier to kill falciparum in the brain before the first pass through the liver. Alan I’m sure that you don’t remember me but the brief time that we spent together at the Acadia summer basketball camp years ago imprinted my mind and made an enormous effect on my life. I was a skinny little white kid with little skill but desire and determination and I studied your every move in the gym with my peripheral vision, recording not only your motions in my more than 3D memory but to the extent that I fathomed your state of mind and emulated your “ttttssssssssuuuuuurre” through the teeth whistle so I understood and felt the ball go through the mesh with each shot.
Such was the impact that your love of the game on my young mind that when I returned to the Acadia gym 3 years later at 18 years old, my first start as point guard for the University of Prince Edward Island basketball team, in my first year, that I played a near perfect 39 minutes with 0 turnovers. Though I only got to drain one for one 25 footer in that game that shot was for you, in homage to the friend and mentor ship you showed me that summer.
It was just Canadian university basketball, not near the level of the gods you ran with but it meant the world to me that I could return to the gym where I played pick up against a god and contribute to beat the venerated Axemen by 20 points in the final game of the season. I have been unable to obtain a video copy of that game and I thought that with a mere request from an NBA player the Acadia athletic department might sift through their memories and provide a crippled old man with memories of his youth when he was young and able.
