Athena Ag Nutrients

I’m getting ready to upgrade my garden and literally in this back and forth debate with myself on those exact 3
Athena Ag Blended line but I’d do the pro too (thinking of them because Jungle Boys, Grandleflor, and more big West Coast names)
Flora Flex because I’ve seen some friends use them and get good results seems simple too
Front Row Ag because Miami Mango and some ppl in Michigan I’m in contact with use them along with Power Si
I switched Athena blended bc i mix 10 gallon rez and dont want to keep a stock solution. I use their calmag and cleanse. I use Psi and Psi flower. Ill use CAPs Foliar only if I see something wrong. And THATS IT! I dont use anything else. Now i have the best buds ive ever grown, no joke, and its WAY easier. Ive run H&G and AN and had way more problems and no consistency. I recently ran recharge on four plant and four plants with out side by side and there was ZERO difference in terps or yeild for me and ive been smoking over 40 years. I grow in coco and soil is a different ballgame. Most of the top production grows that have that fire Sundae Driver and so on are not using Recharge or Roots Excel. Trust me. When i quit worrying what the best kelp or root stimulator was and just went Base A & B and started really focusing on my environment my quality went through the roof. My friend uses all that crap i used to use and he cant accept that is the reason why my grows are always better quality. He says its my lights or watering frequency. Buts less is more in coco. Focus on your VPD and environment consistency and simplify your recipe and I promise your quality will improve. Weed is not a complicated plant.

As far as which brand, Athena or Floraflex are both great. I doubt you would see a difference in results. Its really not that complicated and believe me ive spent hours and hours pondering all these things and blowing THOUSANDS of dollars trying this and that nutrient. Just pick one and focus on your dry downs and environment and you will be amazed.

First off thanks

Why is there a push for dry salts over liquid?
Bc its easier for commercial growers to mix a stock solution and then just dilute it. Its more economical on large scales but some of the ingredients are very small amounts, so if your not mixing up large batches it’s probably better to use the blended lines(liquid) for more consistency. Plus if you go dry you will have to use a quality scale and keep it calibrated. Either will work but for small scale runs i prefer the Athena blended. Hope this helps

I've been using athena ag pro line for a minute now. Its a great product I would highly recommend. As far as making batches I run coco dtw. I have a 30 gallon res and I make 5 gallon at a time. Its very simple to weigh out the appropriate amount of grams on a digital scale that all of us already own. It takes no more time than measuring liquid nutes and I've also found it to be incredibly accurate. Never does the ec need adjustment after I mix.

do you have recommendations on watering?

I was thinking of using like 10 gal to 15 gal pots for coco 1 feeding for a run off and letting dry for 2-4 days ( 2 months Veg )

But the more I read I see 3-5gal pots even smaller getting fed 3 times a day small feedings almost everyday

I would like to Veg 2 months to max my yields but I really want to get my feeling down right because I wanna produce high-quality nugs I don’t want to drown my plants and I want to utilize dry backs and I’ve been seeing small incremental feedings multiple times a day with less days of dry backs

I hope I worded everything correctly

I use very small pots and water quite a few times a day, up to 12. Basically treating my coco like a rockwool block. My pots are 6" floraflex pots so they're the same size as a rockwool block

How's Athena compare to GH Florapro or Mastercrop for composition and cost? Also Peter's?
It’s about half the cost I used to spend on GH nutes. And I had terminator, floralisous plus, sounder and others. I use the water soluble powder. Core with veg. And core with bloom. It’s simple once you get your amounts down. Everything’s in those 3 that you need. And my tank looks clean my lines don’t gum up like they did with floramicro

Hey everyone! Quick question. I’m running Athena pro with rockwool. I’ve talked to Athena and they swear not to use any additives. What are your thoughts and recommendations? I see everyone here is using coco or soil but I need feedback on rockwool. Thank you!

I believe the Athena Pro-Line feed schedule was designed by the jungle boys using rockwool I would listen to them and not add anything I'm running Coco with no additives except for spraying power SI once a week along with stack and IPM. I've been pretty happy with the results here's a nug of more cowbell grown with Pro-Line no additives.

I'm using the pro line on 50 lights right now. 18 are 4 weeks into flower. Other 32 flips in two weeks. So far so good. I am using the pro Core/Grow/Bloom granular, Stack, and Cleanse. In addition, Silica blast, and Heavy 16 Prime. Thinking about adding Budswell at week 5 to satisfy my urge to use a bloom booster (urge to spend money).
I'm a fan of the line. I'm aware cleanse is overpriced, it seems to work.
Side note, I started using PowerSi, SeaGreen, and Stack with Raw yucca (and full power) for foliar and it is Rocket Fuel all the way

Can you give some more details on this.

Anybody with experience with the Blended line in DWC know if it’s normal to foam? I purchased the full Pro line since they said both lines work in any medium, asked them ahead of time if the Pro line would work and they said it would. I ran the Pro line and my system started foaming, getting brown, and the started sludging up. I contact Athena and they told me to switch to the Blended line. At this point I was a bit frustrated since they assured me that the Pro line would work and I already spent hundreds of dollars on it, and now they’re telling me to spend a more to replace it with the blended line. I literally used about 100 grams each of the Core and Grow.

So I’ve just switched to the Blended line after 2 of their reps told me to and I’m running into the same issues that I had with the Pro line after 48 hours of use. So after eliminating the pro line I tore my whole system down and hand scrubbed it with bleach and water, drained and vacuumed out all of my lines, let bleach circulate for a few hours, rinsed out about 5 times, then let plain RO circulate for 24 hours. Drained the RO water, vacuumed and drained the lines again, rinsed out one more time, then filled with plain RO water. Added new plants, then the blended line and started seeing white foam within 24 hours, and after 48 hours the foam has a brown tint just like the Pro line had. I contacted Athena again and they can’t seem to give me a straight answer if the foam is normal or not.

I haven’t added anything other than the Athena nutrients, so I have no idea, but this foam is getting thicker every time I check.

Very odd. I am not having any issues at all and am running the Pro.
