they are the same 2ft fluros i am using in my setup for cloning and starting veg. i have 2 of them, but i kept the whole thing intact. i upgraded the bulbs to NEC 18w, quad phosphorous, 5000k, T8 bulbs. i got a fishtank for free the other day and the 2ft light that came with it is a gro-lux 15w T8, but it is a pinky, purple sort of colour. i put it in with the other fluros and in less than 5 mins later my 3 little plants were turning towards it. so the fish tank is going to have to find another light.

upgraded to T8? i thought T5 was the ducks guts, high output and they are more efficient also

the standart t5 bulbs that come with the nelsons are only 4000k and triple phosporous where as the nec t8 bulbs are 5000k and quad phosporous. i upgraded half of the bulbs first and the plants liked the nec bulbs better so i upgraded all of them

i dont really know. if anyone knows what the phosporous thing is about, that would be cool
hmm T5's are repped hard but im too lazy to search for facts soo bah ill just leave it.. all i know for sure is their more efficient and prefered by the stinkbud growers for use over their veg and clone units

here is a bagseed seedling. photos are 13 days apart. it was growing so slowly and then i put in the t8 bulbs a week ago and now it is growing so fast that the leaves are fighting for a space to work in. i personally have found that my cuttings and my seedling arent stretching the way people said they would under fluros. maybe its the t8 maybe not. for all i know it might have something to do with that quad phosorous thing. but i like the way my plants are growing nice and tight not too stretchy.

t5 is way better than t8

ive been growing plants in fishtanks for a long time and T5 is DEF the way to go, it outputs much more light than a T8 bulb of the same wattage. I understand T5 lighting but I just never knew how to put them together.

yep know wot ur saying 8enough, do wot works for u..

And yeh i find the floros perfect too, got squat fast growing little fuckers under them.. Ive noticed they get to a stage after about 3-4 weeks where they just start looking sad so under the HPS they go and then BAM on they go with another spurt

i was wondering, because i only have one 400w hps and it is being used for flowering, can i move my vegging plants in under it for the 12 hours it is on and then move them back under my fluros for the remaining 8 hours of the daily veg for these plants? am i likely to have any problems?

that would fine, as long as you dont miss a beat. F@#k up once you are likely to cause hormone issues.
i am home every night when my light goes off, so i should be able to keep the routine. its only for another 4-5 weeks. lol. are they going to be ok with being moved twice a day? i mean will it cause stress for them at all?
