My grow space is gonna be well into the high 30's even early 40's in summer and i dont think i can cool it down. Ill run my lights during night to prevent as much heat build up as i can and put in more fans, but this wont solve the problem. Do you rekon this stuff would actually help?
yeah i think im gunna have the same probs as my grow is in a building with no air con but i do have a portable aircon i was thinking of just running in the building hoping it keeps the temps down in the cupboard
that stuff sounds interesting i might give it a go on my next lot as that will be right through the hottest time of yr

hahah the portable air does sound good, however a 600w HPS + Fans not to mention the big ass Ducted for the house.....the power bills already top close to $1k in the summer (and that was before i got the 600w...be interesting to see how much extra it adds) so not sure how this will ride with the bill payers :P

I just got my grow box today and am planning to do 2 shortryders in a 26" tall PC case.
Short Ryder is a dwarf autoflower and is known for being harvestable after 44 days of flowering.
DWC 2 plant hydro system
Dutch Fest Nutes
(The specs and system I have are from www.mrgrowpro.com)

This is my first grow so I have a few questions:
1. With this strain what light cycle and time periods should I use?
Should I just go 18/6 until it flowers and then go 12/12?
2. Should I use all 5 seeds and pick the most successful ones or just crack 2?
3. With the nutes i know less is more so in the first few weeks what levels should I use.

Thanks in advance!!

Congrats on your new setup buddy. Im new to the game too so dont take it as the bible, but:

1. I heard 18/6 the full grow cycle as autos dont need reduction in light :)
2. Well if they new seeds i see no reason to waste the rest? Crack what you need id say.
3. DO NOT GO OVERBOARD WITH NUTES IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS!!!! Once those first set of fans pop out (no not the dicotons or whatever they are called) THEN start a weak (1/4 to 1/2 strength) feed.

Get the more experienced members to clarify, but Question 3 is important!!!! I started growing only this time last year with bagseed and was losing quite a few seeds early on in life due to over feeding. TBH i have found that unless you have a EC meter (i don't) best play it by how the plant looks. If its not growing at all and your sure your light is close enough and temps are warm and air moving THEN increase feed. I have found the less attention i give them esspecially early in life, the better chance they have. Its tempting to give your new babies all the love and attention, but you WILL kill them this way :)

This goes for overwatering too. I guess a little harder to do in a DWC setup but still.

im getting ready to do my first auto a 60dw gunna try doing it outside as they run there course nm what light cycle im lead to believe not real sure but as skiz said 18/6 seems to be the most popular for autos from what ive read
im goin to do mine in organic soil like mh did i think from memory he didnt give any nutes for atleast the firs month but again this is in soil im very curius how ya go with a hydro medium as i have 2 seeds

just crack what ya want to grow for now and save the others for when the first lot is done just store em in an air tight container in the freezer

anyone have any real good results with any certain product that they know works 100% just PM me cheers.
PM'ing is gay...

"House and garden" 2 part Basic nutrient. Works for veg or flower and is cheaper in the long run than most other brands due to its concentration. "House and garden" products are as good (if not better) as "Canna" products and cheaper than dirty old "CyCo".

I like Canna & Cyco. Nutrifield is coming along too.

Autos remain on 24hour light. Skiz was correct in saying the Auto's don't need light reduction. (But then proceeded 2 suggest a 6 hour dark period.. Wtf?! Lol..)
They grow by age, so y not get the most out of them in a 24hr period as u can??

The fridge would be fine, the freezer could damage the seeds if there is the tiniest trace of moisture in the seeds.

hahaha i was looking a some autos on herbies and they said 18/6? I thought you still need SOME down time for the poor buggers to rest? Obviously not i guess lol.

I went with 18/6 with my autos and they did brilliant, the most i'd go is 20/4, i never go with 24 hours although you can but i believe the plants need a little downtime just aswell as your hps lights i wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my hps on 24hours anyway, but if you go 12/12 indoors then your loosing out on yield, i been reading alot about autoflowers and 18/6 works just aswell as 20/4 not much difference really so might aswell save on some electricity

Ill help you I just tackled this issue:

Demonseeds.com is awesome shipped to Aus in 1 week sent it super stealth inside a gift. Also gave m,e 5 free white widow seeds

Gypsy Nirvana's seed boutique is also very good, took about 2 weeks and gave me 5 free seeds. Came in the original breeders packs.

So i am doing a very small grow with Lowryders. If I was going to get the very best soil / mixture What should I get and where can i get it.

I hear alot of people talking about foxfarm soil in the states but what is the best soil to get around here in Australia??

I don't care how expensive since its just a microgrow...
Thanks +rep for any help.

i would say any of the organics with no time release ferts in it from what ive read on soil or a seedling soil if ya plan on repotting
keep in mind i never done a soil but i am looking into it myself at the moment for my 60dw seed

Outdoor, use seasol grow & bloom, they include all trace elements and will rock your bitches socks off, they love it !!
I also use and swear by Cyco range of hydroponic nutes, Australian made and have proven results, worth using, otherwise house & garden or canna are the mickey mouse.
