I read that rockwool is also renewable, in the geological sense. According to the spiel from Australian Insulation Supplies:
"Rockwool, also known as stone mineral wool, is made from renewable, naturally-occurring volcanic rock."

As it's made with locally sourced basalt, there is less carbon footprint associated with it, unlike Coconut husk that has to be moved about the world.

Just checked my plants & decided to dress for the occasion.....

Yeah because volcanoes volcanic rock occurs every day.

I’d say that the carbon footprint of rockwool would be larger than coconut husk which is also a byproduct of drinking/eating coconuts. The main footprint for the coir is processing and washing. With its ability to be compressed it’s actually very efficient to ship large quantities, the main issue is that large highly compressed shipments are sent halfway around the world to be washed, graded and bagged than reshipped around the world again this time in an uncompressed or lightly compressed state.
