Autoflower strain...time stamps (flower initiation)

Anyone who is familiar with autos should know that Autoflower's flip from veg to flower from a predetermined genetic trigger imbedded into the strain...NOT a change in light hours. I thought it might be useful for everyone pursuing autos to share and compare what they've logged for veg times..to create an awareness of productivity of strains.

Some of the Autos I grew out last year included:
Royal Queen Seeds..Amnesia Haze Auto, very nice Terp's ..but triggered early, around 3 weeks..smaller plant..nice tight buds.
Fast buds..Green Crack Auto..started to flower around 3 weeks as well..some how stressed..8 inch plant..one big bud..probably not fair to use my plant as the norm.
Fast buds..Tangiematic..approximately a month before flower..Decent structure, nice strong Tangerine smell, decent mid-sized buds..nice and frosty.
Elite Seeds- GG4 Auto..they claim it was developed from the original GG4 cut..I planted 2 beans and had 2 different phenos..both of these had the longest veg phase of the bunch..approximately 5 weeks..one shorter and earlier flower was the frostiest Auto I've had..The second, larger pheno, longer veg was also quite frosty..Some of the best Auto genetics I've seen so far for those looking to breed auto's..
I also liked the Tangiematic..

Sorry, I wish I had my notes handy as I would have preferred to give veg days in days rather than weeks (approx) to be of more use.

Goal..We are all looking for longer veg days to get larger plants...and thus more potential flower.

I've been breeding these with White Gold, White widow, Jack the Ripper(Subcool) and BlueDream in an attempt to expand the Cannabinoid and Terpenes within the best foundation of Super Autoflowers I can find.

Ive grown loads of autos over the years, ive noticed they all start showing sex around 3 weeks, longer if they were stressed

That's why people are starting to look for Super Autos now..longer veg more bud.
Can actually be decent producers if you grow them right.

Good Question Waterdog!

The reason, for us Canadian's is that many of us are screwed using phots as the season isn't long enough..If you take two photoperiod seeds of the same strain..you plant one indoors a month early to get a head start on the short growing season and one in the right in the ground...You are going to have two different sized, but genetically similar plants..The one started indoors being significantly larger..
..the problem...both of those plants will still start to flower at the SAME time.triggered by the diminishing daylight hours...too late in the season to finish.

With a Super Auto, I can plant in a big pot inside, much like starting a tomato early to grow outdoors and have it trigger like a conventional vegetable. :)..Thus having the time to finish flowering properly

Cheers

Sorry didn't finish..the intent of that SuperAuto, being brought outside in that pot to finish..point I'm trying to make...Is that this is one of the best options for people who want to grow outdoors in a short growing season without having to deal with the hassle of tarping for light deprivation to induce flowering early.

Gotcha I'm in south Florida. Don't have that issue to many damn bugs and always hot apparently. Im actually setting some plants outside next week should be done right before xmas. Blue dream photo

As little as 14 days to show sex but usually youll see most around 21 from sprout. After that they explode in growth before they show pre flowers. I typically cut the first node off because they usually dont do much. After that plug and play

Hey Swish...

Anything in my Autoflower breeding gets yanked and turfed if it starts to sprout pistils with in 3 weeks..I'm gunning to expand the productivity of Super Autos and 3 weeks, doesn't give the plant enough time to build a frame IMO even with the longer light cycles..

You need to get it in with Mephisto. Sodk, Hubbabubbasmelloscope, Chemdogging, Fantasmo Express and Walter White to name a few will veg around 5 weeks. This is my Chemdogging at 8 weeks this past Sunday. Flowers around 5 weeks from what i saw. I don't run and camp my plants every day. Took all the big fans that pic, so 3/4 days ago. No training and didn't feel like topping either. She's in a 6" plastic pot of coco being bottom fed Cal mag and Mega Crop.

Nice looking plant Matt...I've been focusing on my GG4 Auto crosses as they too begin flower around the 5 week mark..I'm getting some similar structure, now just crossing it out with some select photoperiods with the intention of creating some new SuperAuto strains..Are you doing any auto breeding?

No, but do have a good collection of 35-40 Mephisto strains to make more seeds on my own in time so not to lose any genetics that they retire.

Cool Matt..
I've taken a peek at Mephisto from time to time but nothing has really jumped out as me as most of the Super Auto research I was doing re: productivity and strength covered a lot of main stream reviews...
All of the Auto strains I like came in feminized seed only..thus last year I started crossing my Super Auto feminized, with decent photo period males with the intention of breeding out a few generations so that my seeds were Autoflowering regular seeds (for when I need autoflowering males) as opposed to having to keep the ball rolling by feminizing my own seeds..which I have done, even made my own colloidal silver..:)
I'd have to agree with some others I've chatted with..the hobby has become more about the plants than the herb itself for me.

Hey PBK.
I'm jealous..they must be a decent size by the time they have finished flowering? What strains are you run'in?
Cheers

Nice!

Did you cross them or something? Even Pyramid has the WW Auto down as a fast finishing Auto...I think my GG4Auto (Expert), and Tangiematic auto's and respect crosses (5-6 wk to flower) still take twice as long as that to harvest (90+ days)
No cross, im just lucky and get big yielders
