Hey guys im growing double diesel ryder from sagarmatha. Description says its an autoflowering strain NYC diesel X lowryder #2 supposed to finish within 7 or 8 weeks from seed or something like that. Im almost 5 weeks into the grow under 400 watt hps 3.5 gallon bubble bucket under a 18/6 light schedule. The plant showed its sex 2 weeks ago with only a few pistils at each node. It has been two weeks and she has not shown anymore signs of flowering the plant is getting tall its over 2 feet now and very bushy awesome smell from her already. Anyway my question is what if the genetics are unstable or somethign and it turns out she is not a true autflowering strain. Every regular plant ive grown once it shows sex it grows more and more flowers everyday. This plant isnt yet so im wondering if it may not be autoflowering. It is a really new strain so who knows. When would be the time to decide that i need to flip the lights to 12/12 and assume its a regular photosynthetic plant? If it is i need to do it soon because i cant let her veg forever i have limited space.
Thanks :weed:

k, without making you go look somewhere else......... you should flip the lights. this is a big problem with all the companies that use lowryder to breed with. they dont backcross and take the time to work out the genetics so you get photo seeds every now and again. could still be a great pheno, just not 100% auto

I was also questioning this but my issue was nute related....u growing in soil or water? what are you doing nute wise??
Is this suggesting that nutes can change a plant from being an autoflower into a photoperiod flower? as in...... changing the plants genetics? I don't really see that as being scientifically plausable. Kinda like if you drank a bunch of special orange juice and ate special vitamins that could somehow mutate you to grow wings or something. unless you are saying the stress from nutes (which autoflowers really don't like in the 1st place) is leaning a plant that carries both phenotypes in it's dna towards photoperiod, to somehow reduce that stress......
in which case, I would still stick by my shitty genetics by the breeders theory

KB to answer your question switch 12/12 now .. I have one growing now did the EXACT same shit showed sex at each node and that WAS it!! Got 2and half ft tall.. I had to kill 3 due to getting to big and some newbie probs on my part. But I still have one just about 2ft tall been under 12/12 for about 11days now and loving it!! Never again sagarmatha.!!!

Sad state of affairs......with autos becoming very popular, there's a lot of shitty "autos" showing up.....I've been growing autos for 3 years and also stayed with certain seedbanks.......good luck but don't give up on autos, just check out reviews of the strain before you plunk down your money....

Yes very good advice for ppl getting suckerd in by lookin at those great pics like me with out researching the breeders to see if they are stable. You live and you learn certanly dont give up on autos. Joint doctor and lowlife seem to be VERY stable guys and FLASH seems to be a coming up contender with there exotic NEW but STABLE strains.

ummmmm well not exactly....side note I would like to drink magic juice and sprout wings lol...My issue was more ignorant based hahahaha....I was growing an auto flower waiting patiently to flower in my DWC..giving it low dose grow nutrients.....and it didnt auto till I switched to flower nutes....common sense...that I usually have except with that hahaha

good luck

yes i should also agree w dont give up on autos. joint drs easy ryder is extremely stable (prob one of the most stable plants iv ever seen) and is an amazing smoke too. I'm def not knockin on autos, just the problem with the autoflowering market. typically I just stay away from breeders with photo plants when buying autos. If someone only sells autos (lowlife, joint dr, etc...) I'm alot more likely to at least trust it will auto flower

Thanks everyone for the replies I was planning on waiting one more week then switching to 12/12 if doesn't flower. but I'm
gonna do it tonight I guess. Thanks for the advice I'll post some pictures soon and let u know when it starts to actually bud. I'm usingpure blend grow and bloom. I've been Giving light grow nutes should I stop feeding nitrogen and just use bloom?
