Autopots, going on vacation

To start use autopots. It is a lot easier. Trust me you will not hate your decision. But I am just a dude who loves growing in my autopots.
DWC has some learning curves and you have to be on top of it. If you are it is stellar from what I have seen. I am not.

Is there a difference in bag appeal/quallity from dwc to soil?
i grow for me. I have no idea. The people that may have received some of my stash allegedly always loved it.

DWC produces more and quicker from what I read but the autopots do ok. Soil in a bucket does ok too if you are good at watering and nutrient feed :D and its cheaper

Done both & now just stick with autopots. With dwc you can't leave them to their own devices. Really you need to attend to them daily. With autopots you can at a stretch leave them for a week unattended.
DWC will give you higher yields but is a lot more complicated.

imo all that stuff has many moving parts that can fail SIPS are old school and work great! I went on vacation for a week with plants in the last 2 weeks of flower came back and they were still amazing with no moving parts no one looking in on them. I like the KISS method and SIPs are it for sure!

autopots have no parts. It is a reservoir with a hose you put 6 inches higher than the planters. Then your pots sit in a planter that has a float system like your toilet. It prevents it from overflowing. They are like a SIPS for dummies. I used to call it hydro for dummies but sip is more accurate.

And I agree. It is the simplest system I have found that can water and gain the benefit of coco without having to water daily which is what i ran into.

Bustan sells the 4 pot set for 180 bucks plus shipping. 4 pots with a reservoir and tubing and shutoffs. And that is not too shabby.

It still seems like the auto pots have ... maybe not moving parts but things that can fail.. and cost a bunch more as well. Personally if I am leaving for an extended period of time I want as little a chance as possible that anything will go wrong. But autopots do look like a good option also.

The price scares people away. But I grew 12 oz of solid buds last round with autopots and a 315. That is about 3300 bucks from the LP. So that paid for my tent and lights and autopots and i still gained a few oz. This round is free.
Fuzzy math for sure but true that.
I also got 3 or so oz of larf
And I have a MBM2 so that shit all gets in brownies and coffee. I love edibles the most.

Edibles and vape is all i do now. Welcome to the 50s.

I'm an autopots user I grow in a tent 2.4m tent. I have a 250l Res with a aquarium pump and a bubbler rocking. In flower I have gone on holidays locked up my house got on a plane come back and there's a dribble in the tank.

1200 watts and I've smashed over kg

8 XL auto pots

They are the best set and forget system u can get

Dwc are u prepared to freak out and lose a crop over a pH swing. Arse to that ! Autopots get ride of the pain in hand watering. Personally I'd prefer filling the big tank and then do nutes and pH once a month or once every two weeks in flower than do it all twice a day in flower

If u want super evolved in just keeping them alive at full power Dwc is for u.

If u like having a life and growing well above average weed and doing everything all the time autopots all the way

Blumat arena piece of shit I flooded my tent count less times with them !

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like you love it. I just bought the four pot system yesterday. Ran it today to make sure they all worked. Seems like a good device. Looking forward to my first grow

What medium do you use?

The best media I've found is a mix of coco and peat moss with some perlite like 20% ish

Just coco get soggy I found

Nutes I run canna coco with so Epsom salts like a desert spoon in for every 50 litres

One thing I will say is no organic nutes they will block your lines

Cannazym will do the same just much slower it makes lumps so get a small cheap China fish tank pump to swirl the water around and a bubble aka cheap and China

I love them to be honest buddy best set and forget system out there in my book.

I found scrogging work best for them in a tent because once u set it u the next time ull be under the plants is either to trim away the shit or when your chopping them Down at harvest.

Beautiful, thanks for the helpfull comparison. So like i said i picked up the 4 pot package. For my first run im doing super soil that i picked up from the hydro store (they make their own )

Ever try or hear anyone use soil with the autopots?

Thannks for the pics, hope i get half of the success on my first grow
