man if they were in there with the rest of them you might get the green mold on the rest of them i would put a little peroxide in your misting bottle to try and take care of any of those spores that might have gotten in there

bad ass, i got my first pin yesterday!, ahha , im growin golden teachers and the B+ from hawkseye, only 1 of 5 glassed colonized for the B+ =\, but how long did it take for your cake to pin after birth? i think mine was like 5-6 days, crazy how big they get in one day
It took 5-6 days as well for me. My pin is getting bigger at least 1.5 inches now. There's also a lot on the other cakes too.

Looks like you are having some success. Great. Will you be continuing with the cakes? Or will you be going to bulk next?

I just picked the big two today, 1 day later and their caps are already broken.

Gonna try eating the big two tonight, just as an experiment...

You may want to see some threads from a user named Batcave. Especially if you're into fruiting from cakes. He has alot of journal work done here, and some interesting techniques. I myself will eventually try out. Others have been very successful using. That bastard. But there is alot of good things that can come from cakes.

I've been enjoying these on weekends with a buddy for a couple of weeks now. I'm about to soak the cakes after these last few sprouts are harvested....

Wow you've been getting good yields probably because your cakes are much larger.

Well, I started with 12 cakes but many of them didn't colonize because they dried out to quickly. The best 4-5 were soaked and then they fruited. Just threw 1 of the 4 out yesterday as it developed a black/grey mold. But they are still producing on the 1st flush. The have produced over a oz (dried) so far. Stick with the smaller cakes and jars- it's far easier.
