I used to guide for Brown Bears here frequently - the big quake of 1964 caused the huge slide from the mountain top into the bottom of the valley.

My family left Alaska prior to the earthquake, don't know exactly when. We ended up in FT Huachuca in Arizona. What a shithole.

Gotta love the Army.
The CG sent me to St. Louis after 9 years in Alaska & after 3 years of way too many people and the craziness that accompanied that I dipped & went home!

We bid on a house a little south of there in Hereford a few years back. It was out in the country close to the mountains. The logic was cheap medical and dental right across the border when we retire. The way the border is now you can forget about that for a while.
