Haha funny to see this thread here tonight. I just came in from a joint of the JOTI Blueberry from a while back. The smoke was smooth and blueberry flavour. Nice easy relaxing stone. Had a rum and coke too. Now I can't type. Bedtime!

Anyone tried the 1997 NYC Blueberry cut thats circulating around right now?? I heard it didn't have anything to do with DJs lines, but heard it was that old school light lime green Blueberry that everyone remembers.

I have not, I have been looking for a reliable source for it as the few places I have found with it I don't really trust.. I believe it's the 97 blueberry that comes from upstate (albany area). If so this may be more closely related to what many of us remember from the late 90's early 2000 bb

well, i finally got round to running the second half of the otm pack and got 4 females that were all bland, tasteless.. longs peak didnt even germ..
however i ran some more Bruadar Gorm s1 (Blue Jam from Grateful Seeds to a male Miami Heat x Super Banana Haze ) and i'd say about 50% of the plants have a wonderful blueberry taste. Fairly short compact strain, early finish 7 - 8 weeks.

I haven't ans haven't even heard there's a "97 blueberry"....not saying it isn't it, BUT it's odd how everyone searched for 20 fucking years for strains and suddenly outta the blue ppl pop up with them....I smell bullshit....does it taste official? Maybe....but I doubt it's a 97 cut....probably a brand new cut from a brand new cross that they relabel to sell it for more $.....that's my opinion.
If that real 98 blueberry still existed, someone would have stepped outta the shadows 10-15, maybe even 20 years ago with it. Imo.
It's dead, or the cut changed over time and lost the terps it was famous for.

I grew up in Oregon in the ‘80s and 90s and I remember the real blueberry. Sometimes blue and purple sometimes green, but the flavor was always the same. I’ve tried a bunch of different companies Bb including what dj has been using for the last 15 years. Dynasty has some hybrids that are very close. I know the forums hate riot seeds, but his blue bonnet and blueberry bx are spot on for the blueberry. It’s not the blueberry muffin that’s popular now. It’s the old blueberry jam that I can remember

I think if you're looking for BB seeds reminiscent of dj's original releases, you're out of luck these days. There are seeds that will get you close that have been mentioned in this thread. Riot's blue bonnet has been praised a lot despite the negative criticisms of him. I think it's worth a look if you're hell-bent on a BB hunt.
But I keep thinking a lot of people must be holding good cuts they found from dj's old work. I remember when BB hit the mainstream scene and you'd think it was the end-all be-all of weed. Plus, you could find good stuff around 2000 from DP and Sagarmatha since they were working with old BB stock.

Broke into a jar that was cured in June of last year. Its 45 days ish from being a year old. The lid popped when i opened it. Sweet smelling. As i broke it open the blueberry smell flooded out. As we smoked everyone got highschool dumb high. Giggly and exciting stuff. Its an hour and a half later.... i am still high the head buzz cleared and a calm body high has set in almost like i smoked some blueberry hash! Still in love with this smoke.

We literally had as much as we could afford, which in those days was not enough. I didnt know how things really worked and just thought i would be able to smoke it for the rest of my life. Well by 2005 there was a split in the crew, a prison sentence, then a bunch of fake blueberry for years after. I had been searching for blueberry thereafter.
Well i happened into Lems bx4s. His plants were dead ringers for high and taste.
When i called my cousin and said hey i got the blueberry she did not believe me. I could see her eyes twinkle as she dry hit the joint. Blueberry is back.

I like lems blueberry as well but it is the more narrow leaf sativa leaning blueberry. I personally enjoy the more afghani leaning blue

the strain that has been going around as 1997 bb if it is what it seems like, is not DJ's bb afaik. the pics look a lot like the bb that was around NY in the late 90's early 00's. Im trying to find someone who has a cut that I trust so I can test and report back

Its probably the Canadian cut or similiar called the kootenay blueberry its a pure afghan cut not a hybrid or anything to do with djs work its rare too if i had to guess id say from northern afghani stock like off of tashkurgan as theres lots of berry stuff in that line or something like that originally but who knows tbh its the only blueberry cut ive heard of thats got nun to do with dj shorts work and being that ny isnt so far from Canada it wouldnt suprise me if its the same or related
