Hey i was wondering what your opinions are on the best and most consistent strain of white widow. im doin a 4x3x7 SOG and wanted to include a couple white widows.

As a side question...are there any good 'banana' weeds out there?

im growing a big bang, strawberry kush, and a bagseed plant rite now under cfl's but want to go to 10 plants for my next grow in a couple months using 250 hpw/mh and maybe a few cfl for extra.

Green house seed company has white widow... I think they developed it the strain.... I could be wrong
yes, greenhouse developed the strain back in the 90s, but when their breeder left, he took his gear with him, shanti, and went to mr nice seeds, who now has the real deal white widow, only they call it black widow to get away from all of the other white widow knock off's..
mr nice's gear isn't the cheapest in the world, but you usually get 18 beans instead of 10 in his packs and shanti has the black widow pretty much locked down and it's a pretty stable strain, and it's the white widow i'd grow if i were to grow white (black) widow..

Some day I will grow G13 Lab's take on White Widow. Seems like a good alternative if you want fems, or just want a pack of beans for less than $100.

Shanti Babba's Black Widow, Mr Nice seeds. DO NOT TOUCH the Greenhouse Widow, mutant ugly plants I couldn't bare to look at 'em. The Black Widow has that oldschool super-dank Widow flavour and smell, my vote is for this one is the real deal.

Soma Seeds' Widow is also excellent but will probably cost you like 120 POUNDS for a ten-pack. Go for Mr Nice.

Awsome guys, thanx. I think i will try some widow beans from G13 and seedsman...im a new grower and dont have the room to take the chance of half being males with the reg seeds so i will get fem.

Several years ago I grew Greenhouse WW. Bought 5 beans and they all popped. All 5 grew identical and were dank and frosty.

I use to think the same things. Go females as my space was limited. Then I learned to love males. It isn't a big deal at all to either cull the males, or save them or its pollen if something really stands out. One can always flower plants small and grab clones, plus it can help one get through a bunch of plants quickly. I'm not against fem beans, I just question the selfing process used with a bunch of breeders. Plus going fem route really restricts ones potential for a good amount of breeders that don't produce fem beans.

Anyways best of luck but I've found more often than not you get what you pay for. G 13 has been less than promising when I've ran their gear. I'd go elsewhere personally

I have grown out three varieties of WW.

Mr. Nice
Nirvana
Dinafem

All of these were worthy, The first I tried was Mr. Nice which I found to be stony and tasty.

Nirvana's version was more impressive than I anticipated, not quite as potent as Nice's.

This past year I ran some Dinafem, which had more erratic display of phenotypes, but the best plant was the best WW I ever enjoyed.
Wow, and I still have lots of this left...maybe later I will pop the jar...
