Check out Native Sun Genetics/Cartier Crops. Been using his genetics on and off for a couple yrs, no herms no fuckery, had a couple of wack Grape Stomper phenos but everything else we've grown of his has been heavy hitters. Highly recommend. Oh and he'll do sales, like recently he did a "freebie" drop where you just pay shipping.

Thanks, I'll check out Native Sun.

I finally heard back from North Atlantic, better late than never I guess. Stuff there seems pricey but maybe that's just how it is now.

Definitely ready to start making my own seeds here--not so much to save money but to develop some genetics that are well-adapted to my soil/climate. From what I read the plants will adapt over successive generations, curious to find out if this is true. Makes sense from a biological perspective...

You and me both, brother. I am literally chomping at the bit to chuck my own shit. I have a couple ideas in the pipeway but just waiting on a couple factors, like building up my flower storage, before I potentially go a whole grow without possibly yielding any smokable flower (I want to do fems), and getting my room set up so I don't constantly cross-pollinate everything afterward.

I grew out regulars from these guys
I did trench buddy, phat crack, and sticky Buns. All were great, no issues. Trench Buddy finished 1st-2nd week of October.
They also have a strain called Studio 54 that's a super early finisher. Might be good for Maine climate.

If you want the best, and least over bred Sk1 seeds, look into Authentic Genetics. He got them straight from Mel Frank who got them from Skunkman in 1988. They have only ben bred 2 times, and are only $50 a pack. They were $100 a pack, but AG has lowered all of their prices on all seeds. You wont find a better Sk1 than these.
You can just get ancestral skunk. Alot less inbred and worked than what ag have that looks the same as most of sams holland worked skunk does. The ancestral skunk is as skunk#1 was when it first left the usa and still has those landrace type phenotypes in them rather than the stable worked ibl type ag has. They were way cheeper too

I would rather have the stabilized hybrid.
Authentic Genetics Sk1 are only $50 a pack, and have only been bred 2x since 1988.

Also The Nature Farm Sk18 never went to Holland either.

The Ancestorial Skunk is also known for a lot more hermis, and if you notice, Sam as well as Mr Nice, and everyone else used the Sk1 to breed with.
The Sk1 IBL brings stability into crosses. Theres a reason Sk1 is/was used in so many crosses. And not Ancestorial Skunk.

I've been seeing a lot of talk about this strain lately. Is it all it's cracked up to be?
I've grown it a couple of times, as well as doing an indoor seed run with it. The phenos vary, with about 25% of them being purple, for me. I grew it outdoors twice, 1 plant was 8 feet tall, killer pine aroma, super sticky and a great high, still one of my favorites, surprisingly up and euphoric! My seeds came from Tom Hill via a friend who bought them 23 years ago and IBLd them himself. Also finished fairly early outdoors and did well with mold and pests.

That sounds promising! I'm really looking forward to growing this one, seeds are on the way. Will get 'em started with the April full moon, will be in the ground in June, hopefully ready to harvest end of September! Sounds like pure indica lineage from mountains of Pakistan according to what I could find online.

What's you're favorite source for regular nonfeminized seeds?

I got started with Greenpoint, great results but looking to try some different genetics than stardawg. Specifically looking for some terpenes other than myrcene, cayophyllene, and limonene. Love to grow something heavy in pinene and/or linalool. Not focussed on max THC, in fact interested in exploring other cannabinoids.

I grow organically outdoors in living soil in Maine so early finishers a plus although I took some greenpoint sativas into late October the past 3 years (dicey!).

Thanks!
Oregon Green Seeds has been breeding for mold resistant plants that finish early outdoors! Good prices and accurate descriptions of the plants' growth charactoristics. I have grown several outdoors down here in Oklahoma.https://oregongreenseed.com/

Just received the Pine Tar seeds yesterday--bit of a delay shipping plus they had to go through customs (seeds are from Canada). So I've got 10 seeds each of Pine Tar and Northern Lights #5, now just need one more strain. Thinking I'd like to do a Sativa or Sativa-dominant hybrid since those 2 I got are almost pure indicas. Don't mind taking a chance on late finishers for the third strain--in fact I may do fabric pots so I can move those indoors if necessary during any fall cold snaps or rain during late flower.

Thinking maybe a sativa heavy on the limonene would round out my varieties nicely. Something like Greenpoint's Copper Chem, which I grew in '20 and '21. I suppose I could go back to Greenpoint for that one, but open to any suggestions for a strain that fits that bill. Then I think I should be good for '23. We'll see if I can successfully make some seeds this year without pollinating my whole crop! Messed up on my first try last year, didn't store the pollen properly.

I should mention that both seedbanks I dealt with, Authentic Genetics and Island Life, were responsive and seem totally legit., in case anyone else wants to do business with them.

Katsu Double Dose Diesel. I would also recommend his Sour Diesel IBL but theyre sold out for now. DDD was also sold out, but he put some packs back up for sale yesterday. Only 18 packs left.
DDD is Sour diesel IBL, but a few phenos that were found out of that strain, were way above average, so they were bred back to the Stone Farms Male. This male is supposed to be the best Sour Diesel Male ever found, and was previously unreleased for 14 years. I believe it was released in 2022.
DDD is fast growing, super potent, and yields like a MoFo. Outside if started early, and given all the light they can get, and 300 gallons of soil, theyre getting 8lbs a plant. But I realize its all but impossible to move around 300 gallons of medium. Outside its done last of October. Takes 72-80 days flowering.

Ive also done all kinds of business with Authentic Genetics. Never one problem with Todd.

If you want to deal with a super long flowering 100% Sativa Landrace??

Underground Seeds Collective. They have 100% Authentic 1972 Santa Marta Columbian Gold seeds. But the bad thing is they take 130-150 days to flower. It would be best to start them as early as possible, and move them to a dark area for 12 hours a day, by the 1st of June to initiate flowering. OR you could just give them 12 hours per day of light from the start, which is probably the best thing. At the equator, thats about all they get there. These plants will get huge if given the chance. But this IS the real deal Santa Marta Gold, and they are not expensive. The big bummer is the cost of Tracking. Its about $30USD. The seeds are 50 Euros per pack.
These get done in late November outside in USA. This is also killer stuff to Hybridize.

The email address is [email protected]

USC Seeds also will answer your email really fast. They dont muck around. Some of the fastest responses of any seller Ive found.

I'll check out the DDD, thanks.

Not sure I could manage a pure sativa here in Maine unless I do the light depo as you suggest and not sure I'm ready for al that yet.

I took Chinook Haze the first year right up to Halloween, that's a sativa-dominant hybrid, but that was pushing it. Was a tremendous plant though, would grow that again if it was available.

Oregon Green Seed has the Chinook Haze for sale. Ive never used this vendor though. Seeds are probably old since they were discontinued in 2018. BUT if they were stored properly should be in good shape. Ive got MR Nice Super silver Haze F2s I made in 2010. Ive had stored in the fridge for 13 years, and got 100% germination last year. But, they have to be stored properly.

Id go with the Katsu DDD.

I've been buying and growing Oregon Green Seeds gear for years! Her Diesels are quality and she even has a 50 day sativa dominent that is really good! Her stuff is bred outdoors for growing in the PNW, so should be a good fit for you! Here are a few that seem to fit your criteria. https://oregongreenseed.com/shop/oregon-green-seed/tdpo1620/she-devil/

I still have some Chinook Haze flower from '21 so I may hold off on taking a chance on older seeds. Wonder why Greenpoint discontinued it? Was a tremendous strain I thought.

That's good to know about Oregon Green Seeds being bred outdoors. From what I read that makes a difference in how resilient that plants are.

Which is my main reason for waiting to make some seeds here--I'm curious if the plants will adapt over generations to my local conditions.

Yes seeds you grow will adapt to your conditions. I'm in Oklahoma and have grown outdoors the last 4 years, and Oregon Green Seeds genetics do well here. Faster finishing times mean less chances for a hail storm or high winds to damage my plants. I harvested a sativa dom from OGS, (Maxwell's Silver Hammer), in mid Sept that was the best sativa I have had in years. I pollinate every plant I grow, on one cola, so I am always trying to select for better plants.

Be curious to hear more about your pollination process. Feel free to DM or post a link to any online guidance. Easy to just do one cola without accidentally pollinating your whole grow?
