BIG problems with HTG Supply

like i said, think what you want. i just told them strait up. i dont think you should be talking. people wanted proof, obviously i gave it. if you were in my shoes you would be just as upset. 2 used units, one right after the other? seem odd to you? some people are always going to make excuses, if it wasnt the pics, then it was the way i emailed them. if it isnt that, then its because the sky is blue. if you want, you can trade me 2 of your grow lights for mine.

okay i am going to say somethin about this guy. i do not believe his story for one i just ordered the 95 dollar special 400whps built in ballast and they were outof stock and sent me a UPGRADE 400w florlux (the one the guy is claiming was used) when i got mine it is in BRAND NEW condition double boxed and everything works fine. and he is claiming he got the same light but fucked up witch i highly doubt.

Bagelthief, I hate getting jacked up stuff in the mail from internet stores. I've felt your frustration before.

Just for the record though, I got my light and ballast from HTG and they were in pristine condition. Shipping the lights back comes to $100? Are you sure? Is that what you payed to have them shipped in the first place?

I hope you get this resolved quickly. I know what you are saying about feeling screwed but I hope your open to the advice that you should try to not be so angry about it so quickly. Give HTG another chance to make it right. If you threaten them with slandering them online, you may make them suspicious or they may not be as responsive (even though they seemed pretty cool about it in their email.) And like you said in your email, most people say they have good customer service. You will probably get good service too.

I understand why people are skeptical though. I used to work at online store where people would buy duplicates of years old items that they had owned, used and broken (perhaps even on purpose so they could return it.) Then they'd send back the old one, saying it was the new one just shipped, hoping for a cash return and get the new one for free.

Sometimes people would even buy the item cheap on ebay because it WAS broken. Even though we were a decent sized company, we'd really look into every one of these kinds of things, because if this quality control issue was sourced from our suppliers, we'd really want to nip it in the bud.

We had actually found the auction listing one time of the broken item and we contacted the seller who confirmed that it was the same one with serial numbers. I can't tell you how many times we caught people who obviously swapped stickers on items, scratched off or dented up serial numbers. Its was crazy! Those people were lucky my supervisor didn't want to pursue them for fraud.

I understand why she thought that it wasn't worth pressing charges, but it always really bothered me. Those people really screw things up for people with honest problems.

Good luck man. I hope you get your problems with HTG worked out.

i know some people are still going to talk shit. saying i damaged them and what not. say what you will, and think what you want. im not going to tell you to go buy from so and so, im not going to tell you not to order from them. its your money. here on out i know where mine is going to go and get spent. im shopping on craigslist. i can get great deals from there on the same used shit.
I stand corrected & am currently eating my words,it appears that you did get fuked,not once but twice,my skepticisim was not out of spite it was born from countless threads with no proof backing up claims.

You showed proof & i was wrong,end of story from my end.

Don't worry about the flack. A lot of people say " bullshit " just because they haven't had a problem....yet. Maybe you did, maybe not...it's nobodies right to out and out call you a liar. There are some here no matter what you say you're an asshole (watch what gets said to me ) . They don't realize that what THEY think or say is just as suspicious.....1 or 2,000 posts means ZERO.....If you feel screwed buy any REAL (not a forum rat) Real as in sent Real money to a Real address for a Real item go at them with both barrels....Shit look at the nasty stuff being directed at you for what ? A statement... imagine if they PAID to read that post.....Fuck you'd have a hit put on you.....................Even the honest and sweet girl guides sell broken cookies every once and awhile....

guys guys, i got the answer at HTG they were stoned as shit, and they had all of his order together, and then they dropped the shit from about 3 feet. They scooped everything back together, and shipped it away. hahahahha

i don't see why this guy would waste his time to discredit HTG for no reason..

growbig, i paid something around 45 dollars for shipping. i really hope i get my issues solved too, and i can see what you mean by people being skeptical. i assure you though, that this is 100 percent htg.

thanks alot we need to know about suppliers almost bought some chiot from them but did some lookin around and heard some bad things so it saved me the hassle your going thru.if u didnt use a credit card keep both.some peeps get a rise out of irratating others keep ur head up and good luck:peace:OUT.

I've ordered plenty from HTG and had no problems and have always received great customer service when I called them.

No business is 100% perfect 100% of the time. Perhaps your order and subsequent replacement came out of a crate of bad merchandise they received. I'm sure they don't open up every unit and inspect it before shipping... how on earth would they have the time?

Their email to you seems like they are eager to solve the issue and make you happy. You threatening them with a post on a forum of potential customers is childish at best. Perhaps it would have been better to just say "I've heard good things about your company from some forums I participate in; I hope you will make this right with me so I too can provide positive feedback about your company."

At this point I'd say, shop elsewhere because you are already convinced HTG will never be able to make you happy.

As for me.... I'll continue to give them my business and recommend them to others.

See now i think that people like us who have had stellar service from HTG is what makes it so hard for many to believe that they are f-ing up orders,i had nothing but great experiences with them,so good that i bypassed ebay & started ordering direct from them with credit card,my real credit card.

For a long time i just figured the bitching about HTG was from shill posters fronting for another hydro shop,im sure that is the case sometimes but this time i believe the buyer.

I know from dealing with them as you & many others do as well that they only sell brand new gear,with that being said im starting to believe that HTG may have an internal problem involving their supplier,there is no way they would intentionally ship out shitty looking gear like that on purpose,they may be ordering direct then having the gear drop shipped straight to the buyer with them never laying eyes on the stuff.

I think HTG needs to have a talk with their supplier about quality control.

I bought a 400 watt switchable agrostar from htg and it broke when I switched from MH to HPS. I sent it back (costed me 80$) and i got it back 2 weeks later.

I think these were new lights but sat for a while. mabey they sat near a construction site. I have seen that rust on new lights before. the dents look fresh though. Was there insurance on the shipping? if so what i would do is make sure lights work. keep lights and turn into insurance co. i did that with a very large power inverter that cost $800 once the insurance company found out it would cost $100 dollars to ship it to them they only asked for pics. and said to throw away unit. but it still worked. so freebie for me.. God you guys need to stop growin so much and learn how to be a real criminal.

So you are condoning STEALING from a business that has a good reputation and keeps many growers in supplies? How very grown up of you... :roll:

HTG did try to make things right... like I said before... perhaps they got a bad shipment... and I doubt they open up every unit before shipping out to a customer. If the poster were to continue to work with HTG (instead of threatening them with negative posts on a forum) I'm sure they would make it right. They are known for excellent customer service!

Stealing is NOT the answer!

i bought from HTG once and only once. there is a reason for that. i wasn't happy.

Good for you that you're getting this straightened out. One thing I do is call instead of email.

I also have one of there lights a 175 watt MH system. It was double boxed and compeletly new. The light seems to work fine so far. I was thinking about ordering another light system. It is hard to believe they would ship an item that looks that bad and obviously is not new.
There should not be rust or dents on a new item that is packaged very for shipment.
I will take you at your word but I do find it hard to believe. No company would stay in business 6 months shipping blatanly defective items.
Ive done google searches and have not found very many problems with HTG Supply.
Sorry you had a problems........something as big and heavy as a light system is a big hassle to be shipping back and forth across the country.
Hope you get it resolved.
