I've seen a lot of horror stories about desperate rats seriously fucking up snakes, sometimes managing to kill them. The young anacondas were usually little assholes about accepting dead prey, so I typically had to feed them live and often have to scent the rodents with fish or chicken before they'd take it. Everything else was put on thawed rats ASAFP. I used to buy from a company that would ship frozen rodents right to your door. Super convenient.
