F#^$#ing stupid bursto, clicked allow on a pop up window, on a site i shouldn't have been on, now I've been hacked, whats a good free anti virus soft ware and do i need to change all my passwords now:wall:

It has an anti-virus associated. I've run it for years on my Windows systems. Yes I'd change all my passwords. I use Last Pass as a p/w manager and I'm very happy with it. Sorry to hear about the hack and hope this helps.

I gave it to a 16yo and they found the cookie or whatever it was on my browser, taking me to a site wanting me to pay for some lame anti virus software

Just had a stern talking to, about web security off my son,,, it was late and i followed a link, big deal

think I'm all good right if i didn't give credit details right to the fake virus scan software?

Zonealarm free has an outgoing firewall that will save you if you click on the wrong 'cookie'. I run an outgoing firewall on my macs; Little Snitch.

Since you don't know the payload I highly recommend an outgoing firewall and lastpass or another p/w manager. You need to change your passwords too.

i can recommend noscript,if a site opens another site for you like a popup or redirect it doesn't let it activate any code.its a pain in the ass to click allow all the time but great securty
