I don't mind the ice. It was fun to walk the dog on the lake.

Geese do suck ... I agree. Everyone keeps their bushes by the shore tall just to dissuade those birds from coming ashore. And the yammering 24/7 drives me nuts. Doesn't matter what time of day ... we have loud squawking coming from every direction.

They are just noisy and messy creatures ... no thanks.
So are Ravens. I keep one on the side of my house and feed it handsomely to keep my neighbors happy with me
Good morning, everyone

I definitely don’t miss commuting. I’m a union carpenter from the bay area. A minimum of 1hr drive each way was the norm. Sucked! Did that for 20 years.
My commute these days is about 40’ to the shop from the house :-)
I hear ya. I used to commute from Marysville, WA >>> 1-hr up a logging road from North Bend, WA. I will say the Bay Area traffic is a lot lighter since Covid…like 50% is my guess even in the SBAY.

Yeah when i say 1hr minimum it really was a 1hr minimum. Only job/s that i worked on that was less than 1hr was UCSC campus jobsites. From San Jose where I started out and from Salinas where i lived and commuted to and from for 9 yrs. When I bought a house in Salinas i was working in SF. That sucked.

I’ll never forget the first time I drove hwy 17 and saw skid marks up like 6-feet on that center concrete divide. How does that even happen?

Beautiful area.

Rain delay for my sprinklers :) I used to commute all through the LA basin. After I began software engineering I worked from home :) except for occasional forays into the office. That everyone disliked. I'm retired now.
@ooof-da mentioned that commute traffic isn’t as bad in the bay area since covid.
My ex wife left for the sticks during covid. She works for a software company that makes it easier to work from home lol. That company is killing it.

Mornin'....

Our neighbor has a pet goose. Talk about shit everywhere. I couldn't/wouldn't do it. I love my critters but the free-range chicken/goose gig is above my tolerance levels. They had 2 but the mountain lion (they believe) snagged one. Boom. Gone.

We didn't have long commutes...15 miles max...but many AM's it was whiteout conditions/demolition derby from all of the tourists trying to get to the ski hill. Everybody in vacation HURRY MODE for some reason. Gotta get up there to that pow-pow! Even in the grocery you'd get tapped on the shoulder by someone asking to cut in front of you because "I'm in a hurry". Yeah...me too...and I got up early. Go to the back of the line fucker...some of us LIVE here/work here/etc....heehee. Maybe it's why I don't do vacations anymore. I've been on the other side too many times with stupid tourists. 30+ years in SkiTown....I've seen it all. Yikes. Must be a requirement to leave yer brain at home!

Another 60F day here. Moisture on the horizon...not sure how much though. Doesn't look like a doozy...unfortunately. Even though I'm still hurting from the last one...we never wish it away.

Thinking I might start my Summer weed garden seeds today. Don't need the pot but what else is an old fucker gonna do all Summer? I need to find some Vets or someone on limited income to toss weed at. Used to do it all of the time in my old life. Had 4 "patients" who never paid a dime for weed. Had a good friend with Parkinsons I kept high til he passed. Ditto with a friend in GA who had cancer. She got 1/2 z's of bubble hash in the mail every 6 weeks. Never took their drugs. Totally blew her docs minds for a long time. They were totally supportive of her hash smoking even though it was 100% illegal. Who cares @ that point? Fuckers. She made it 4 years. I was honored to help and she told me she couldn't have/wouldn't have made it as far as she did w/o the gift. Yeah...I need to find some folks again... cus I don't seem to be able to not grow this plant.

We’ve shifted to largely wfh with the occasional day at the office. This is why I’m totally okay with the switch. We’re number 3!!!

Zoom and all the other advancements are great and only going to do better. I'm happily retired. My son is still in the game doing AI research for Google. He has a ton more work on his plate since Covid and during Covid he worked from Maui. Now he works from his home on the beach and surfs during the day. It's a wonderful new world.
