Hey Everyone,

This is the first plant ive ever grown and it really was just thrown together. Found a seed in a bag i bought with no knowledge i purchased a bag of miracle grow 6 month extended release nutrient soil and a grow light and let her rip. Well to my surprise it grew and turned out to be a female (i think) now im about 3 weeks in and ive watered it 2 times very generously but, as of today i noticed the bottom leaves are drying up and the tips are turning yellow. If you people would be so kind as to take a look at my set up and give me some tips as to what this problem might be and how i can make my set up better i would really be so appreciative. Thanks! leaf-1.jpgleaf-2.jpgleaf-4.jpgleaf-5.jpg

The bottom leaves start doing that when they aren't getting as much light. Those single blade leafs can be defoliated whenever you're ready at this point. I never see any sign of shock when I defoliate. It usually booms the new growth up from the extra energy of not supporting an inefficient leaf.

Thanks! any tips on how I should go about defoliating them? Should I cut off the little Leaves next to the main stalk?

If you have scissors dip them in rubbing alcohol before cutting or wash your hands and just pinch at the base of the stems to remove leaves. The little ones at the very bottom are the cotyledons. You can get rid of those as well as long as you don't peel strips down the stalk. The rest of the little stuff called internodal growth can stay until it becomes a nuisance and blocks light or airflow. As it grows you only want to remove the bottom third of the plant that will never reach the top or middle canopy where the most light is. Some growers like to keep that stuff and use it for concentrates but I would bet that the increase in yield at the top produces more thc than keeping the bottom larf.

That plant is not showing sex yet.
Yellowing is probably due to the miracle grow.
When you up pot i would recommend fox farms soil, promix, or anything else without time release nutes.

Good luck, and fingers crossed for you that it is a she

Thank you. Quick question When i do up-pot it can i just take the miracle grow soil and place it all into the new soil? or should i flush the soil with water.
