bd, do you have a close up of when you fimm'd them ? Like the day you did it...I need a pic to compare to my methods...

Do you fim them just once, or more than once ?

And, where can you pick up that Schultz Rooting hormone ?

thanks bro...plants lookin' real green and healthy ! Good Job !

Thanks brotha! On the rooting powder or jell, just google "Take Root" or similar and you will find it. If not, holler at me! When I fim, I do the first cut on the top new flower taking about 80% of the growth, as shown below. The June 2 is fim # 1 and June 5 is the growth. The nice thing about fiming instead of topping is that topping gives you 2 new sites, while fiming gives you 4 of them. I re-fim 2-3 weeks later and that's it. Hope this helps bro. Peace

A couple of update pictures on one of the veg tents. In some of the pics, you can see the growth of 4 new nodes after fiming on June 2 (6 days ago). These girls are about ready to go 12/12, so I may not have time to fim again. With the feed formula and schedule I use now, this is the most critical stage to deal with. You can even see some of the stress on the lower leafs, but its expected. You can easily see in the pictures that the fiming worked great and gave me 4 new sites for each fim. That's why I prefer fiming over toping, but both are good. Peace

A really nice green colour, BD, Congratulations. I'm on my 1st grow and a low, low budget. Soil consists of stuff I dug up from a woodland, leaf litter, rotten bark, nut shells ect. mixed with a few shovel fulls of garden bonfire ash, rotted domestic waste, cardboard, banana skins (potassium), fruit & veg (worms added). With bone, blood & fish meal from a supermarket.
For nutes I'm using ordinary tomato plant food, guano from my pets bird cage and last years compressed grass cuttings, stuffed tightly in a bag with a small hole cut in the bottom, standing in a bucket, over months the stuff rots down, oozes this black stuff out and I dilute it. Plants look healthy enough, though I'm sure it can be hit or miss, but its a learning process. I'm not overdoing any one thing at a time.

Thanks nark! Sounds like you are putting some cool originality in your grow dude! Put some pictures up, so we can see your progress. My veg tent is going 12/12 this week, as these girls are plenty big enough to start flower now, so I won't have 6' trees in the tents (lol). I'm also doing some test beans outside for a well known breeder. They are pictured below and there are 7 strains here that I'm bot allowed to disclose yet. I fimed them last week and the new sites showed in 2 days. A couple of these are already showing flowers and are 3-4 feet high. Your thoughts? Peace

Hey bro...I hope I answered your questions. Let me know if I wasn't clear. I am also wondering what you see in comparing my fiming to yours and if you might have a couple close up's too. Peace

I'd like to see what your grow looks like. Can you put some pictures up here?
