cal/mag like spots

I have the exact same thing right now on one of my seedlings... it is the only one out of 20 having the issue. I just removed it from the light and have it on my desk. Gonna give it some water with a small dose of cal-mag tonight and leave it on my desk for a day or two, then put it back farther from the light. My suspicion is that the reason only this one is having the issue is that it is a light sensitive strain -- so will move it out from directly under the light. They're 3.5' under a 240w veg blackstar - growing as fast or faster than under the 400w MH last grow.
its weird your is moving out of the direct light. mine is going more towards the light than normal. maybe it is a bad cal deficiency. its just so weird to me since i use cal/mag. guess it was not good as said above

I have one afghani strain. That no matter what I do. It seems to get every deficiency under the sun. Im done with. Hqve 1 plant left of it. Sometimes strains are more sensitive than others. I also think that coralates with root health too. The afghani never seems to grow strong roots. It cant even hold itself up in veg. It drinks much much slower or less than the rest. Which also makes it more susceptable to root rot.

If you ever do outdoor. If you sprinkle a trail of dol lime around plants. It keeps slugs and snails away.

I was getting cronic calcium deficiency with my LED but it was totally my own fault, I had them at about 2 feet when recommended distance by manufacturer was 3 feet. I just raised them to 3 feet and with a calmag feeding in my hydro res all was good. Whatever you do you MUST sort this cos believe me, you dont want a severe calmag deficiency, their is no sorting the plant as it turns into a severly retarded feeble runt and you MUST start over. BTW it IS a calcuim deficiency, Magnesuim deficiencies is more a yellowing colour.

Here's my latest vid of mine showing my sickly one with the same thing... sickly plant is in the middle of the vid. I gave my plants low dose camg and microblast this morning to help'em out... may raise the light just a bit more as well, although i think it may also have been the water pH being a bit too high. We'll see in a couple days.

The yellow parts could be mg def (not ca) if they aren't from nute burn

i got 2 plants with the led syndrome bad... everyone else looking ok... i think in this case it is having to do with the pots getting too dry as they are in 16oz solo cups at the moment. Too dry = bad for little babies.

My 2 gals are watered every other day. My 5 gals once a week. When the soil dries out. The plant gets salty. Then leavs droop and wither and dry out to a crisp. So probably water those twice a day or at least once a day.

Nothing that has no green left is going to improve. Correcting the cal-mag deficiency should mainly prevent the problem from getting worse. Even with cal-mag supplementation you may see the occasional spot or two of it pop up, but I wouldn't worry about it much other than maybe moving the lights up a bit more. Also don't get hung up on blaming things on the ca-mg always -- a lot of times the ca-mg issue occurs when your plant is either too wet or too dry as well (particularly too dry as the plants can't take in the mg-ca very well at a certain point of dryness so you may see mg-ca symptoms before you see wilting). I'm actually thinking of watering mine a bit more often until they get into their bigger pots that can hold more moisture. Luckily their final airpots should be here hopefully by friday.

^ very interesting. i have two plants one that got the spots and one that did not. the one that did is in a smaller container and drys out faster than the other. i water when dry but maybe that has something to do with it.

I have 20 at the same stage, 1 with sever issues, 1 with moderate, 2 or 3 mild, the rest chuggin' along growing like crazy. Mine are ahead of the last batch I grew under HPS, but I had pH issues then as well. I'm checking pH now to be sure again nothing going in not between 6.3 and 6.8.

Thanks for the good info Senseimilla - The plant of mine that is showing these spots is always the first to show signs of dehydration. Under-watering is very well could've been what happened in my situation. I'm making sure to give them plenty of water now!

if the leaf still has mostly dark green parts like yours i leave it -- those parts of the leaf are still photosynthesizing and providing energy to the plant.

Mine are still chugging... doesn't appear to be getting worse at this point -- i watered yesterday for the 2nd time with cal-mag (upped dose to around 1/2 mild dose)
