Calcium nitrate and why you NEED it.

You are just a very bad reader. If you had read the original post more clearly, you'd have seen I was talking about soluble forms of calcium. Calcium nitrate is your only choice when it comes to hydroponics.

Calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate are highly insoluble in water. They work fine in soil, but for hydroponics, you should be using calcium nitrate.

You don't even know of all of the forms of plant usable Calcium. You left out carbonate and phosphate sources

You need it because it's calcium nitrate.

There are no other soluble forms of calcium other than calcium nitrate and calcium chloride, which is ideal for animals, and terrible for plants.

Calcium nitrate is the only way to get calcium hydroponically, so what's the fear in buying it?

It is also the best source of nitrogen when growing hydroponically! You can not get enough nitrate using only potassium nitrate, or you will have too much potassium.

It's the main ingredient by mass in almost all complete hydroponic formulas.

it's only 1-2 dollars a pound, even in small quantities, so just buy it. How can you go wrong?

Stop buying cal-mag+

Any questions? Good. This thread is closed. I'm not even trying to sell you something. It's a salt.
Let me guess, because I haven't bothered to read; there's a line of people bashing this, right? Yeah... I'm not one of them. I use it at a rate of 2.4 to 3 grams per gallon of nutrient solution, along with other FERTILIZER SALTS like epsom salt- also known as magnesium sulfate, it's an excellent water soluble source of those nutrients- which just so happen to include the other half of cal-mag.

Don't use cal-mag, I think it sets your hydroponic system up for failure.

I already outlined how carbonate can be used successfully in water. soilless and coco are considered hydroponics, so you should also specify the exact hydroponic systems if you are going to write a thread like this.

In completely sterile hydro grows calcium phosphates and carbonates have no business being there, but if you are using microbes and enzymes they work fine.

Buying coco and fortifying it with lime is wasting coco. Coco is already an overpriced medium imo. Why would you go ruining it by fortifying it with lime?

It'd be better to not lime the coco, and use a hydroponic formula instead, as intended.

Also, if you're buying a product that contains calcium carbonate instead of a giant bag of limestone, you're a huge sucker.

You can get a 50lb bag of crushed limestone for very cheaply.

Say what? Come again?
Dude......that blanket statement of yours is straight wrong! Church is def doing the rite thing by trying to get people to understand that ALL the nutes out there are made from the same shit. Cal-mag has it's place though dude!. But of course you can create it for much cheaper!

I don't want to work with limestone. it's very easy to work with it in a liquefied state. Again why do you feel the need to bash people's practices? I am so fucking happy what you do works, but seriously you sell it like it is the only suitable option when it's not.

Limestone is highly insoluble in water, thus if you're buying it in water, it must have a low concentration.

It doesn't make sense to buy "liquified" limestone.. Liquified... lol You're too much.

Make sure to keep bashing me to disguise your lack of knowledge. I'm too busy making money from my garden to liquefy my own fucking limestone.

Mick uses 20 different bottles of shit to grow, if AN ever decides to offer a new bundle it will be based on his Jedi Master grow bundle and it will be amazing
I'll put my product up against yours any fucking day of the week. I will be in FL in November tell me where you want to meet!
