It's been like a war across my town with no and yes on 8 signs. I'll see 2 right next to each other and come back a half hour later to see one is gone.

The way I see it is, I'm not gay, so I won't marry a gay person. But if 2 gay people want to get married, why not? Doesn't affect me.

Gays allready have the same rights under a domestic partnership! Mariage is a tradition of men and woman. Not a right! Yes on 8!

I know this is going to turn into an argument, but here it goes anyway.

Why don't they deserve to have their partnership called a marriage and to be referred to as spouses? How does it affect YOU if they are "married"? I mean, from a religious standpoint, they're all going to hell anyway for being gay, right?

My thought for no on 8 is that same as my view on most drugs. it's not hurting anyone else so why not legalize?

they've been doing some wack ass advertising on prop 8 over here. "if you vote yes on prop 8, schools will teach children constantly about gay marriage" no shit, that's almost word for word off the tele.

Yep, and why shouldn't kids be taught about gay marriage? lol I guess then they might wear their pants too tight in kindergarten and talk with a high pitched voice the rest of their lives. Oh no!!!!

As one who lives in "The Bible Belt" of California, I am constantly at odds with many of my coworkers and employees regarding issues such as this. I had to unfortunately rip one of my employees (a devout Christian)to shreds, metaphorically speaking of course, when he tried to convince me to vote yes on 8. He already knows my stance regarding the right(s) of the individual and my belief in a strict, unwavering interpretation of the Constitution.

He ended up completely frustrated after countering every one of his weak attempts to turn me in favor of such egregious legislation.
