I smell an excuse to build a new light

Seriously though, this light cost me about $120 to build and you can definitely flower a couple plants with it. I got the board from Atreum Lighting and you can get 10% off with the code atreum10. The driver is a HLG-120h-54a and they’re available on amazon with prime shipping for about $55 after tax. Everything is hooked up with wire from Lowe’s — a cheap AC cord, some southwire 14awg DC landscape wire, and some solder and heatshrink tubing.

Is that the only light in there? Tent size?

I'm looking for a grow tent frame so if anyone has one I'd be willing to part with some cash for it. 8x4x6' or taller would be perfect. I'm in northern Alberta tho but could pay shipping if the price isn't too dear.

So if the tent fell apart but the frame is still good I'll take it off your hands! Just need something to hang my lights and shit off of in the spare bedroom so I don't have to mess up the popcorn ceiling with screws etc.

I am gonna say that if you can't afford a light, you won't complete the grow. Costs arise, maybe have to buy something like a dehumidifier or whatnot. If on such an extremely tight budget I would be looking for a second job.
or maybe change to outdoor guerilla-style with autofems, that can be done without much cost. just seeds and a bunch of long-duration ammendments. here, one needs to invest rather time in finding a good spot, constructing stuff to fend off natural predators, art. water collecting etc

on a right spot one can grow rather much, and very cheap, but it max involve some weekends to care about it.

I know times are tough but lights aren't that expensive, surely someone in the family is working..?

Or just grow outdoors, or even indoors by a window.

Can start w super cheap CFLs for first month or 2.

Dude want us to buy him a light?
Good grief no! Just package up one of your spares, take the time to get it to a UPS store, pay for same day shipping, and send a tracking number. Then, for the next six months, be on call for all support requests, and be prepared for the liability when the grow fails.

At least that's what I got by reading the original request ;)

Hhhmm. a thread from afew months back but From what I could see, if this guys genuine he was only asking for a little help for his near 80 year old father. Someone could have just video called his dad to make sure it was legit an mabe donated a spare they had that they wernt using. For guy that age a hobby like this would have been really good for him, might of helped him alot. Instead people just take the mick. I hope if god forbid anything happened to me and my father ever needed help people would actually help an not be a-holes about it. To the original poster, hope its worked out for your pops an I hope he has alittle fun an it all works out for him. Im many miles away from were you are(difrent country) otherwise I would at least tried to do what I can. Tell your pops I wish him the best of luck, an I hope he has a blast.
