cfl cabnet grow. 4x2x2

I built two hoods that hold 10 bulbs each daylight blue type for my mama/clone room. This is a 5 by 8 room and it works as good as the 2 600 hps I took out. I dont even notice these on my power bill. More the better------mike

pictures of the hoods you made?

so 20 CFLs worked as well as 1 HPS for you? What wattage CFLs are you using?

Comparative yields from CFL and HPS?

Thanks for any info

Edit: Didn't see that you only used the CFLs for the clones/mother. What else are you working with?

There a bit of misinformation in this thread.......Cabgrower,i think your soil is a little to wet. What type of soil are you using?Looks like it could use some more perlite.I personally don't like using those paper/fiber starting cups because they retain water and they will hold the roots back until it degrades enough for the roots to poke thru. Just make sure your container has plenty of drainage holes(Is that a fiber/smart pot?)I water my seedlings with a bottle sprayer for the first week or so.Let the soil dry out between watering and water with plain water no nutes,it should be ok.GL

It's miracle grown organic soil with no nute. I've got alof perlite in the second half of the smart pot. I only have them in the jiffy pots because I'm going to have to replant because there's so many of one strain I started. I'm gonna take the bottoms off the jiffy pots when I replant so the roots don't get bound. I've been using a spray bottle to water them. The reason it looks wet is because i just watered them. The other seedling beside it is doing done which made me think it's not anything to do with a deffencicy because both would be doin the same thing right? This is only my second indoor grow so I'm relatively new

Shit happens bro!....Especially with bagseed, you never know what your gonna get:).You can have 10 seeds from the same sack, yet all 10 can show different traits. It's possible the one is just more sensitive to your growing environment.Like I said let her dry out between waterings. It should pull thru. You definitely don't need to water everyday(not assuming you are, just sayin).

Staright up...maricle grow soil(s) suck for growing mj. Anything that has to dissolve so the roots can get down is not a good thing. There are tons of plant problems posted on RIU involving MG soil(s).

She's fine now. I'm done asking questions if Im going to get responses like seeds an soil sucks. Thanks though, I'll go through trial an error till I figure out the best soil an nute selections. Peace out
