CFL grow Nirvana AK48

right guys i am glad to say that my plants are bouncing back to life!!! quite a few of the leaves are now starting to straighten out

i have removed the big 250watter as i need to go easy on my electric i dont get paid until the 7th and im nearly skint, and it seems alot more of a pleasant place in there now!! as soon as i get paid again i will be adding a few mor warm whites

the intake fan has been disconnected aswell so should keep it nicer for them now

anyone wanna buy a big ass cfl?

this is upsetting me now look how lush and green it was in there before

im sure it nuffin to do with the cold as they had been in the loft for three weeks when this pic was taken???

hi mate do you mean the one near the start of the thread? it was just a piece of old wood that i screwed loads of bulb holders to lol

hi RIU hope u all had a great xmas i sure did, and i still dont have to go back to work until the 4th!!!!.

another quick update

i have fixed my watering and feeding problems and im back on track, the plants are looking so much better now and the buds are really getting fatter now.

i rubbed my fingers on one of the buds for the first time earlier and the smell was so sweet and made me feel like eating some!!

when i get paid again i think i will be adding a 150w hps in there, i have been reading alot about them and i think it makes sence. there is a great 150w club on here and on icmag that are very inspiring.

any way heres some pics

its the best my mobile will do but i would say they are looking tasty!!!

looks great. I'm going to watch how these girls turn out. because I too order some seeds threw Nirvana. (blackjack) I will be using a 400 hps.placed in large rockwool blocks set in an ebb n flow hydro system. I might try your way, if they keep growing like that.

Looking nice mate. I was looking at doing a grow using CFL for veg and a 400w HPS for flowering but you're having decent results flowering with CFL's I might get 2 RED cfl's and flower using those now.

hi thanks for the comments guys, yes i think that cfl's give u perfecly good results when used correctly even though as soon as i get paid again im itchin to buy a hps kit to finish these off!!!

yeah i do like the look of those t5's, a box like mine with the walls and top completly covered in them with just 1 plant would be nice!!!

Looking good there tam cold may have slowed them a little but they will finish nicely. Some nice long colas there, quite sativa looking? I think we are about the same stage, do you have a planned harvest date in mind?

Girls are looking good! Thanks for the heads up on Tescos, a new shop opened near us recently so I got 15. Don't really need any more but over time they loose brightness and at 20p get 'em while you can. Don't know how others feel about this but I'm really lazy and neglect my plants, near harvest all the leaves go yellow and fall off (I hear the flowers canibalize nutes from the leaves). My logic is they're weeds that grow on dry crappy mountains so perhaps sometimes less is more. Got 2 bag seed plants near harvest, they look pathetic, stretched, yellow/brown but with big STICKY heads. Other growers reckon my bud is well strong, don't know how or why, only thing I can think of is CO2, I sleep next to them. Anyway, good stuff and don't worry to much about the girls as you get closer to harvest, after all we are killing them by starving them of sex. Cheers.

hi there mate thanks for the thumbs up, i wouldnt say your jealous this could have been alot better and my next grow sure will. ive still got that cfl but i see your in the usa! a bit far i think!

hi ms i keep thinking that your buds look alot fatter than mine do. im well excited about my next grow im going to make sure i have my lighting set up alot better, all throughout this grow i have been fussing them and altering alot around.

like at the minute all they have got is 160w above them and have done for the last week, but trust me they are gonna get a lot of light over the next couple of weeks,the best i can do until next week is get both of the 250watters over them, i know they are 6400k but thats all i can do i think

do i just wait til all the pistels are a brown colour? i have got a powerful magnifieing glass i can see the trichs quite well. what i mean is do all the pistels turn brown before the trichs go amber?

ah thanks MOG i just checked that out but i think im just gonna go with when they look ready! as long as all the the pistels are brown i would say its good to smoke!!!!

im thinking it will be about 2 more weeks until they get the chop? maybe less anyone got an idea roughly???????

they have now got 684w of cfl power above them again, should boost them up a bit i hope.

i was reading earlier that before they had HPS bulbs for indoor growing we only used MH bulbs and that they make the weed more potent from using the higher blue spec. and that we mainly use HPS for flowering because it produces more.

any way here a update on the girls as they stand proud now!!!!!

im getting excited now and thinking that my next grow is gonna be ak48's again but female seeds this time.

4 plants all topped like these two would be perfect in that box

oh yeah MS u know u said they look like two different phenos, the indica loooking one on the right looks like it will be done before the sativa looking one on the left. it just seems alot fatter and has alot more brown pistels

indicas do generally finish quicker dont they?
