here is my setup its kinda a new thing the cfl's so i hope i dont get a shit yield.. does the cfl watt 2300k make a difference or is it the distance that makes the buds alittle bigger better denser?

no reflector really but the biotch has gotten nice and bushy...

been told its like walking into a lighthouse when the doors open..

Temps are about 78-82 humidity is right on at 40% and im gonna flower in a week

using

2-26 watt daylight
3-30 watt bright white
2-27 watt soft white...

Im gonna try and add more bright white and sof white for flowering hope shes a female at least... anyone have any comments on scott's brand big bloom? just bought some and it says it will not burn the plant if used as recomended... lol.. im stoned not stupid so comments?

i think i read on here that u only want bulbs around 2700k for flowering, i once read that the plant uses sum of the spectrum for vegin (6500k) in the buddin stage, so it would b better to have sum veg bulbs durin budin, or is it just a waste when i could have a 2700k bulb there? if ne body could clarify that, it would be a great help

So if I'm hearing you right you're just saying that some blue spectrum thrown in during flowering would boost production markedly?

I'd get rid of those bright whites and get more of the other two spectrums And build a reflector all the light comes out the sides of cfls your plant is probably only getting 10 % of the light energy onto it's leaves. Even orienting the bar sideways would be an improvement.

that's right, the red light just stimulates more flowering the blue is the real energy to growth converter.

Wow, I can't believe I've never heard this before. I have two 1000W HPS's running, how much blue spectrum would you recommend adding? I've never heard of this before as I said, and have no idea how to balance, but anything that will make a significant improvement I will do.

They make Dual arc HPS with 6500 K MH in the bulb now but those bulbs are damn expensive. Many people go 50-50 with their HID lights. I know a guy who used 6 blue and 2 orange tubes in his T5 grow for flowering.

well 8 cfls can be set up for under $40 that can get one maybe two plants so as long as your not growing to many its the most economic choice

First time growing here.. Bought a 27 watt cfl and have it about an inch or two from my plant right now. It's only about 2 weeks old. I dont think its enough lighting and i dont really want to have too many lights in my room giving me away, so i decided to leave the plant outside during the day and bring it under this light at night.. Is this a bad idea?

probly not get 3 more 13 watts or another 27 and a 13 but you want to surround the plant if you can. the way your doing it might stress the plant... im assuming you live with your parents

Alright that sounds good, also i have 2 more questions..
1) is 24 hour lighting bad compared to 18/6?? ive heard many different things and cant find a reasonable answer for either.
2) I am going on a 4 day vacation in 2 weeks and not sure if i left it outside, would the light hour difference mess with the plant, or should i just keep it under the lighting 24 hours a day while im gone? (watering isnt a problem btw)

they both work... ppl swear by both if you have a timer already (youll need one to flower) id go with 18/6 but if not go 24/0. id leave it inside and go for an extra cfl or 2... putting them outside theyll start to flower this time of year

So i have 2 27 watt cfls on it right now.. still growing pretty slowly, i keep seeing pictures of peoples plants that are 3 weeks old and they are like bushes compared to my little plant... Do i not have enough lighting??
Also, i havent fed it anything at this point.. people say to wait 3 weeks before feeding it, but my plant is the size of most peoples week old plant so i could probably wait a little longer.. and is the basic miracle grow packets that you put in the water ok?
