damn you got yourself a steady grow. +rep
Thanks man. If my flowering plant doesnt die I will be in good shape. The problem with that plant is that It was abused its whole life, lol...it was transplanted a bunch of times including one time into shitty soil that i had to remove 2 days later, trim some roots and re-transplant it. It is in 2 gallon of miracle grow organic GARDENING SOIL and 1 gallon of miracle grow organic potting soil. This is causing some serious problem. I hope it can hang on a few more weeks because the buds on the main cola are filling out nice

3rd clone rooted so I got 3 in party cups. The first one is going to get some roots in the soil until tomorrow or the next day. Then I am going to move it to the flowering cab so I can find out if its a boy or a girl. PLEASE be a girl!
As I mentioned in the previous post my flowering plant is still dying. Im praying for it..lol. Despite the fact that it looks like its dying it is still packing on bud weight.
The NL that I hope is a mother and not a father is responding well to its training. I think I FIM-d my FIM's...lol...meaning I think I topped instead of FIM-d...tricky shit...couple more days and i will see if either spot I cut grows more then 2 new tops
Man that NL is sexy

If worse comes to worse...how early could I possibly harvest? Assuming I would settle for anything smokeable and my plant was like dead

Hard to say, on harvesting early. You would, of course, lose yield and quality. The yellow is definately from a N def. If that starts spreading really fast then you might give the plant a little veg fert. I do that to pretty much every plant anymore, during flower, to keep some fan leaves thru to the end. I know they never tell you to do that in the grow guides, but I firmly believe in doing it. I love pic 5 from post 157.

All my plants do that once I start flushing. So far I harvested one about 1 1/2-2 weeks early and it was still pretty good smoke but I'm no expert.
As long as the 'sweet' leaves or the ones in the buds don't yellow I wouldn't worry too much about that. I don't remember now how many weeks along your plant is but if you're getting close to the end, I'd let it go. If you've still got 3 or more weeks left on it, I'd go with Talon's suggestion.

Hello?

Hey, Smokey.:p I was just wondering what's up. So, did you end up having to harvest the one plant early? If so, was the smoke at all decent? How many tops does your NL have now? Where you able to determine sex on the clones? Sorry, I guess I'm just the "million questions" guy. There's got to be some good news in there. +Rep for all of your hard work so far. Peace, buddy.

Hey guys sorry I been missing.
I been busy lately plus I've just been sittin' around crossing my fingers hoping my plant doesnt die.

Status of flowering plant:
It has been a sad sight for weeks now but it is going to finish up. Its like buds on sticks now, lol, harvesting will be easy at least.
There are a whole bunch of tops on it I will get a picture up.
There are no remaining fan leaves and some of the bud leaves are slightly discolored but will be able to be cut off.
The hairs are 75% red now and I flushed 2 days ago.
I pulled one of the little popcorn buds off, dried it and tried it. It got me ripped better then the dank I have right now. At full potency it is going to be some kill.

Clones:
The 1 NL that did survive from the first trial of 5 seeds turned out to be male :o(
I tried to cut the pollen sacks off the clone that I used to show sex and to use the pollen to impregnate a couple of the low popcorn buds so that I could get some seeds of this bag seed crossed with NL but I dont think it worked, we shall see. After I cut the pollen sacks all off, I topped the male clone and put it back in the flower box to grow more sacks. The idea is I may try again. Even if I harvest the bud maybe I will leave a few buds on there and try to pollinate them. I would really like some more seeds.

Seeds:
I started the 5 seeds I had left. They all germmed nicely. I put 3 in FF OF and they all sprouted great! I put 2 in rockwool and 1 of the 2 popped up but is looking sad, the other didnt get out of the cube. Stupid rockwool. I was afraid to put all 5 in the FF OF because people say its "to hot" for seedlings but whatever.

Fungus Gnats:
Those fuckers came back. The original ones I got rid of must of already had eggs in the soil and my spray must not have killed them all. I think I killed them all again though, hopefully there are no more eggs in the soil. I havent seen any flying around in days. Since they are or were living in the soil of the flowering plant, when I do harvest I will drowned the soil in that spray to make sure they are gone.

New Room:
The new room is slowly coming along. I rewired and got a breaker freed up for the room. I removed the frame I had started. I have all the wood and the measurements to make 1 big room with panda film. I will section off a corner of the big room for vegging and a mother. I will have the 400w MH for veg and the 400w HPS for flowering. I should be able to get the room going soon.

Glad ur back sounds like the room is going well
I bet we both keep an eye on soil ph from now on
I lost a plant and one did ok
Cost me half my yield though.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that....Yeah this was definately a PH issue in conjuction with shitty soil and the fungus gnats didnt help. Soon I will get some PH UP solution so that way I will have it for my next plants. I have proper PH down but I tried to use baking soda as PH up......bad idea.

Hi Smokey, leaves or no leaves, it sounds like your going to get some great stuff from that plant. Without leaves you won't get the yield but the quality should not be affected much, if at all. Low ph is a bitch, I've had issues with it too.

It sucks that the NL turned out to be a male. Once I had a run where I grew 6 consecutive males. At that time I was growing only 2 at a time so you can imagine how it crushed me.

What did u do to regulate your soil ph?

I fill 2 buckets with tap water and let it sit for 24 hours, then use it to flush. I then immediately apply fert at the maximum strength the plant had been taking. I guess I'm lucky that this has always worked for me, but the drawback is that you can not do that to a plant that is in soil which contains slow release nutes. I do use such soil, but the ph prob usually occurs later in the grow, after the slow release stuff is gone. When the prob has happened to me early in the grow I've ended up digging up the plant and replanting in fresh soil as a last ditch effort to save it, thinking it's probably bad soil if you have issues so early.

Yeah I flushed the shit outta them and added lime to bring the ph back up.
It happened late in flowering and it was FFOF soil.
I now know that correctly applying lime to your soil mix will control the soil ph.

To answer a previous question....there were like 25 tops

I decided to harvest since some of the small leaves in the buds were browning.
I left like 8 buds on the plant that I will harvest in a few more days.
I did not get a pre dry weight

Damn...I only had 5 seeds left and only 3 healthy ones sprouted so hopefully they are not 3 males.

However on a bright note. I tried to pollinate some of the buds with the male NL and I think I saw a couple of the main buds had seeds. I only tried to polinate the little popcorn buds but the pollen prob got blown around. It looks like the majority of the buds I harvested were sinsemilla (seedless) but I guess we shall see.
I left the male in there with the remaining buds and Im going to try to seed at least a few of em.

This bad seed bud smells so nice. It smells just like my favorite bud of all time which we called dirty girl. Probably grower named and not strain but at any rate I am very happy. So this bred with NL will be fire.

Hey, you got a harvest!! Excellent!!:leaf: I found my first harvest to be very liberating. It looks damn good, too. Superb job.

I'd love to know if you did grow any viable seeds as I have never tried that, but I would like to.

Thanks man!! Its pretty awesome and a big relief. It was a bitch trimming it because I had to "get in there" and snip some bad leaves. I think when its ready you will hardly be able to tell.

I didn't completely know what I was doing so we shall see. I grabbed the pollen sacks off early and just kinda broke it up outside the box and then touched little buds with it. By doing this I was hoping I wouldn't release a bunch of unwanted pollen. I thought once the sacks were pollen packed I might end up pollinating the whole damn plant.

got a little less then 2oz off the first harvest
I've read some threads on this site where a person on thier first grow ends up with only a couple of grams, and many threads where a person got around 20 grams even though they already had several grows under thier belt. Many of those people did not encounter a lot of the issues that you did. You inevitably learned more and still got a decent yield. I say "GREAT JOB!!!!"

I'm going to have to go thru the same thing as you when I trim the top cola on my plant. It has a lot of leaves that are getting all funny just like some of them were on your plant.

I like the way you tried to pollinate a bud or two. If it works, it sounds like a simple way to get some beans AND get some usefullness from a male. I just germinated 3 bagseeds and if I get at least one male and one fem then I would like to try it as my remaining supply of bagseeds is running EXTREMELY low.-P
