Changing Hydro Flavor?

This might have been asked but if it has I sure as hell don't see it. I heard adding Kool-Aid packets to water when watering soil plants changed flavor slighly and I know food coloring will change color. My question is has anyone tried this in a hydro grow? Would be interesting to see results since its pure water and nutes. Or in a hydro setup would it mess pumps/chemicals up?

If this has been asked tho could someone kindly point me in the direction of the post? Or if not anyone willing to start a new grow and test this? They also make drops you can put on yoru weed to flavor it but can this be used furing growth? I think some experiments should be tried and maybe we can learn something.

Id be worried about adding any kind of dry material to an aero grow maybe a flood table but I have added orange juice concentrate to a hydro grow the day before cutting down and gotten that light citus flavor and smell. Bontainical makes sweet in berry and citrus to add also.

obviously you haven't used, or know about, fox farms additives. open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha ching!!!

Nope.. only 1 place aroudn here and ive never been there that sells that stuff..

thats interesting with the citrus tho.. food coloring any harmfull to the system tho? or does it grow fine? so what would the problem wit hadding the "dry" powder stuff to the water effect?? i wouldnt imagin much as it disolves right? I just got a new job paying me 3% of the profits they make.. its like $2800 a day ish.. so im planning on buying a simple cheap system on ebay maybe.. i want to do a SoG style grow but im not sure on lighting for 4 plants each at diff stages maybe? I wanna do 1 container and have 4 plants in it and each plant 1 week ahead of the one behind it.. or is that a bad idea? I was thinking DWC for it.. not sure tho.

They pay you $2800 a day? i need that job...The powder stuff even the fox farm stuff like he said has always caused clogged misteers i my aero grows so I dont use anything thats not a liquid form. Even the fox farm Big bloom gets iffy. I Use inline filters and a pump filter bag but if I disolve any dries in there they clog and crystalize my misters almost everytime

I ment 3% of 2800.. lol sorry. And for a DWC the only pumps I see are for the air stones.. so im confused a bit what would clog?

dwc is different as I grow aero so little more sensitive.dwc doesnt even suck water in or out just air so in that your fine

Sometimes stuff gets in the stones then into the tubing/pump.....or Ive seen stones clog up as well. Let me know how it works out if you do it though, cause I have some RAzzleberry Red Kool aid I am dying to use. Lol.

Yeah I will when I can afford a setup. For DWC tho.. how do you maintain the nute levels? I wasnt quite sure on that one.. lol is there some sort of meter or just figure that the plant uses so much and the container is so big.. but i didnt know airstones got cloged .. are they easy to unclog or what? because I definatly want a hydro system because dirt sucks on carpet.. lol and im trying to read and it looks like hydro growas much faster then soil???

you gotta becarefull on experimenting with the water >.< I woulld wait to throw seedlings in your system, after you added water + koolaide and check the PH levels..
Who knows i was always curious of food-coloring myself.

I think I will but i need to get the test equpiment as well as the actual system.

Such a long time since my last post. I finally have decided its time to make that DWC system. I have a post about it here.

I dont have my meters yet. But plan on purchasing them within the next 2 months. Basically since I cant start the hydroponics just yet. I think the place around here is closed possibly. I might be wrong. I am just going to start a motherplant in a rubbermaid stealth box. Then take clones from it and put them into the dwc system. Hopefully things will go well. Also, as for the koolaid. I am goign to wait on that untill I can test my system out once. Then I will add koolaid and take day-to-day pics as well as post back on what I find. My goal is to see fi the hairs change colors or if there will be any sort-of taste from smoking it. If-so this may be a nice way to add flavor. But who knows. I really never did find alot of information on it on the internet. Tho the food coloring I think should work fine.
