cheap soil??

i need to fill like 50-100 3gal grow bags whats the cheapest way to accomplish this wihtout buying mas quantities of overpriced dirt. cheap perlite would be cool. too will +rep

I don't know if this helps, but one of Jorge Cervantes' videos show how to mix your own materials in bulk using a cement mixer. It was very very very simple and to the point. I'd check it out. I believe it's the video that starts out with him riding a tractor in the middle of a field... Sorry, that's all I can remember. Hope that helps. Peace.

i agree with jesus but i believe cheap does not always equal junk. you can mix your own and reduce costs drastically and still get quality. the mix i use would be cost effective and good quality.

you can make a bag for anywhere between $6-$10 a bag and its quality. you can even make it cheaper by just making the base mix and adding ferts. i can make about 8 cu ft using regular compost, peat moss ,perlite, lime, for about $45-$50 and its just like pro-mix.

See if you can get some Kelloggs Patio Plus, it's organic and down here less than $5 a bag. :bigjoint:
