No funnier than seeing Proggies have conniption fits over a fringe group that didn't actually do anything but talk mean and run around in the woods.

I am not specifically defending this group. Just questioning the timing of the raid.

And it's really funny that you apparently desperately wish to ascribe the traits of this fringe group to all who oppose The Chosen One.

I am speaking out against the apparent Proggie stereotype that all Teabaggers must be like these wackos.
I can guarantee that when the DHS report came out last year you were one of those that mocked the report and its warning of Right wing militias.

The group planned their attack next month, w/ a "recon" mission "soon", the information came from an informant inside the group.

On that "recon" mission the group was to kill anyone that stumbled across them so as to protect their missions integrity.
Id say that the timing was great, should we have waited until they killed people instead?

BTW they were in a war against "satan" and "evil", people on the far right calling the POTUS "Chosen One" and other moronic names like that only encourages this extremist behavior. Maybe if the Right stopped using crosshairs, telling people to "reload" and asked "isnt it time to pick up a gun?" people wouldnt make such a connection.

This is the toxic environment that the Right created, fostered and is now coming to fruition.

When the Right sold its soul to the Christian right for votes I left the Republican party. Articles like those above are exactly why. Those people are more of a danger to our society than Bin Laden

i think ill wait till all the facts come out. not just the governments facts.
it seems a little odd to me no one was killed or hurt and the proggies are going nuts.
although along our southern border not only do the mexican cartels plan cop killing they do it all the time..and politicians . teachers and who ever else they can behead and kill. or kidnap for a ransom.
tell me this shit isnt terrorism and its being allowed to come into the USA from our southern border...a example would be the constant kidnappings in pheonix.
and murders.PISS AND MOAN ABOUT A NON EVENT .and ignore the real event taking place because those are third world democratic voters at stake .

My favorite part in the indictment references the Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Where have we heard that before?

http://cbs2chicago.com/local/militia.group.hutaree.2.1597138.html

This is nothing more than the Administration flinging shit at the Right and hoping some of it sticks.

Fling away.

The desperation is palpable.

Youre right the desperation on the Right is saddening. You sold the party and movement out by allowing these religious zealots to gain so much influence in the party. I have to ask because you havent decried this group or its plot, do you support the overthrow of our government through killing police and civilians?

Cant we DEBATE in a civilized manner without resorting to personal attacks and insults?

I ENJOY going back and forth w/ you, I consider you to be an intelligent person; and believe it or not I agree w/ you MOST of the time. Seriously man, this crystallizes the problem in our country. For some reason the idea of political discussion turning into the WWF Royal Rumble is the norm today. We may not agree on every issue, but in the end WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE.

I'd be happy to go back and forth on some points w/ you, but Im not gonna engage in an infantile pissing contest.

Killing innocent people is wrong. Locking people up for owning their bodies is wrong. Making people purchase something against their will is wrong.

If the above statements are true, there's plenty of blame to go around. The solution is often obscured by the symptoms.

The symptoms of people not owning themselves are manifested lots of ways, by people that think THEIR political ideology
is the right way. The "right way" doesn't have to follow a political agenda, it is much simpler. It all boils down to when people attempt to run others lives, there will be unintended consequences.

A good many of the worlds problems would not exist if people had more control over their OWN lives and less control over OTHERS lives.

I cannot condone the ideas that were being spoken in this group, but they do have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. And, of course, the right to bear arms is protected, along with the concept that it allows a tyrannical government to be overthrown by design. This may be their defence, although the killing of cops to further this goal is clearly misguided and wrong. And it's worth noting that there is a boiling point that many Americans will be willing to fulfil the second amendment's other purpose. Again, these are symptoms of a much larger problem that is only getting worse as the government refuses to change course.

Historically, these constitutional protections are afforded every citizen who is not serving in the military. Not foreign nationals or combatants. The difference in this case from Ft. Hood or 9/11 is clear, these people had every right to be locked up for suspicious activities.

If they did intend to go through with their plans, it would make more sense for law enforcement to wait until the attack was imminent before arresting them, as to be better able to prove a conspiracy. The arrest now seems to serve political motives more than legal.

It's also interesting that these are "christian extremists" , when Maj. Hassan's religion was barely mentioned, officially or otherwise, even though it was his prime motivation.
