Hey Guys I hope I have this cloning thing down pat. Its day 3 and I am still not seeing any wilting or other dying symptoms. Comment on the pics if you like. Just one quick question I have heard 2 different stories about watering clones, Spray them with a mild nute solution 2-3 days and have a tray of water underneath the plants to encorage root growth, and another is to water the cubes directly so they are "moist" any opinions on this? How do you guys water clones?... I am due for a watering soon Im thinking anyway the cubes are getting lighter.

Cheers kwaka

As far as i know, you want damp but not wet cubes, and mist them as well. Im not sure you want nutes in the mist..maybe a drop of superthrive and maybe some special rooting nutes, but not standard nutes i dont think.

The damp rockwool will keep the stem soft, and encourage the plant to seek water there. It will do this by growing roots. You mist the plant, and keep humidity up as until roots are grown the plant has no access to water.

Im sure you dont want things too wet, just misted.

Im still new, this is what i understand from reading threads...please let me know if im making a mistake.

keep the rockwool damp.. don't wet them.. as for watering, do it whenever the leaves are dry. i give mine a good spray 3-4 times a day, keep the rockwool moist by spraying it as well but never wet!! dont be shy, as Prot3us1 said, folier feeding is the only way the plant has access to water until the roots grow.. ;)

Oh for sure, b1 is anti stress and there are a few other compounds that really help the little clones get going. Definitely use them as directed. Sounds like you are gonna have some success! congrats.

Do you have a grow journal on here? Id love to pop in and see it if you do...

Your clones are quite big as well..... you could have had 4 clones out the one you got in there...

Yeah I had to top the mothers anyway, I thought I would have a good start if they were big enough to flower straight away. Well This morning after I posted I waterd my cuttings with a few mls of ph'd water on the rockwool for dampness and I also gave the area a quick mist for humidity. While I had the dome off I turned the fans off *BIG MISTAKE* with my stoner memory I forgot to turn them back on and cooked my cuttings  room was 32 farenhite when I checked them at 6pm, My mothers have a few more good cutting sites on it atm I may have to try again, This time with smaller cuttings and more of them.

Cheers kwaka...

P.s. This was a noob error, caused by getting overexcited and overlooking BASIC protocols... Lesson Learnt.

your clones arent big.

they are quite nice sized.

and they look good....however, i would cut some of those leaves in half to help root faster

how do you guys take your cuttings?... I have a fairly decent budding space, I would like to either Scrog/sog on a few clones of the same strain or LST 1 plant per strain per bud cycle. The option is open for both.

i use rockwool as well to clone ...........and i use a small box i made that contains two 3ft flouros

i use just plain water for cubes

one main thin i found out is dont dome them or mist them .....

i know they will look wilty first day or so but they will recover ...if you give em dome and mist em they will get spoiled and not want to grow roots

also i make sure cubes are damp ;not soaked ....tryed it both ways and they will wilt less if they have damp ;not wet

i water em by dippin a corner in water cup when they get light on water

what are these rapid rooter pellets? I have heard about them But have never seen them around, the guy at the LHS has never mentioned them... I also need tips on cutting selection, next time someone is cloning can you take a quick pic of the cuttings you have selected. If anyone already has any that would be great. I want to get maximum efficency out of my mothers.
